I fished with a buddy last night after work from 6:30 to 9:00. We fished brush piles in various depths with minnows. We kept 30 over 10 inches. The fishing was slower than it has been the last couple of weeks. The brush piles that were loaded 2 weeks ago only had a few fish in them. I think the slowly falling lake level may be the culprite but it isn't falling fast enough to completely shut them down. Maybe it's something else but the bite has definitely slowed.

fallin water should make the fish be right where you want them tight to the cover and bunched up maybe just lock jaw

Last year at this time I was catching some pigs on the timber in Oologah. After three attempts this year I have one 9" fish to show for it. Scoot over boys I'm coming to the brush piles!

Went out yesterday on a laidback bank fishing trip and ended up with 11 nice fish. Had one that went 14 1/2in. Caught them on both jigs and minnows. Counting jig down to 10 and reeling back slowly with occasional pause. Was fishing old lay down log on a bluff(it's been there for years).

We haven't done well in the timber either. Last year was amazing, but we have struck out every attempt. Tossed up between Eufaula or Copan and decided we would head to Copan tomorrow to try the 1/2 million trees they have up there. If that fails we know a couple of brushpiles as a fall back.

I think I am the only guy in Oklahoma who cant catch a Crappie in Oologah. I went out today and didnt catch anything. I fished several brush piles with minnows and just got a few bites. 15-20 feet of water. I pinpointed the brush piles with the GPS and my locater. Some of the 2005 brush piles I couldnt find but there were several nice 2009 piles that I fished that I kept getting hung on so I knew they were there.

I'll keep giving it a shot though. I did see some large schools of sandbass busting which was cool. Caught one and about ripped my arm off.

Thug dont be afraid to go shallow to find them cool front is coming I am going up tomorrow at some point will put in at spencer most likely early morn big red ranger boat

Just keep moving till ya find them. Successful crappie fisherman move till they find the active fish. Sure , there are days when the bite is off, but most times, you should know within ten minutes if the structure you are fishing is going to produce. Mark all the spots that produce, and before long, you will have a good list of spots to try each time. ASlways try a few new spots each time out to add to your list.

will do. I fished the spencer creek area. The only place I got bites was a brush pile that was right off the point where the water inlet is. There was a cluster of brush piles there and I kept getting bited but couldnt snag them, I assume they were probably dinks. I tried a little shallower brush pile that was kind of out in front of the beach area but I couldnt get a bite there. I seen what looked to be another crappie fisherman fish that beach area too, I am pretty sure he was crappie fishing a brush pile, he put out a marker and had one of those long crappie poles. He must have not done very well because he didnt stay long at that place. If that was anyone on here, you probably seen me, I was the guy in the little water scamp 2 man boat. I aint gonna give up though. I know there are some magical brush piles out there, I just gotta find them. Thanks for the tips.
