I haven’t figured out why, but Ernie looks more intelligent, than a lot of people I know!

I think a lot of us can relate to that.

I'll take my old lab's company over some people anytime, and I can even toss a relative or 2 into that statement.

We lost our female who was 14 last fall and her grandson ( my current lab) is 10 now......he might be the last dog we'll have, but then again every time I see one of them puppies my heart melts.

Maybe just 1 more, when ole "Wilbur" leaves us.

Another fine day on Toledo Bend. Passed by and saw some geese honking away:

    I like this big bluff:

I tend to to goof off on the water. Stopped at an artificial reef to drop some shiners:

All crappie about 6 - 8" long, pitched them back. Headed to another haunt of mine:

Serious drop off, from roughly 8 feet to 90 feet. Caught little ones on that ledge. Too bad, the shiners were lively - making the slip cork dance. Latched on one of Scott's crank baits. As always, caught 9 of these:

Pitched them back as well. Reminded me of another crank Scott made for me:

No political correctness in my boat. Took a break for some fine BBQ:

Was there at 11:00 am sharp. Toting some home. Charlie says Hi to my Mississippi buddies! Back on the water, lake four feet below full pool. Saw this in the primary boat lane, not one of the secondary ones:

The hot shots running up and down wide open are ignorant.

    Thought I'd share my pictures.

Home now. Ann is excited about Christmas, she jerked out the tacky fake tree to put in our library. It works I believe, looks nice. Will have a real tree shortly in the family room close to the fire place:

Of course I brought home some brisket from Hemphill BBQ, will be having that this evening. Ann promptly made some tator salad to go along with that. She say's she just run out of Bill's secret ingredient for tator salad.

Your's truly is fixing to take a shower and watch the Miss Universe contest.

Hey Randy, I recognize that Bluff too. Where there any fish there? I watched the Miss Universe pageant last night too. Told the wife and daughter that South Africa was going to win very early on, wasn't my favorite but they kept interviewing her so I figured she had it locked in. I liked Mexico but she didn't even make the top 16.

Fish were there Dwayne, but small. That's where the Sabine River channel runs close to the bank - much like the Chicken Coop on the Texas side. Caught many there before, but much larger.

On a second note, Texas A&M fired Kevin Sumlin Sunday after the dismal loss to LSU:

I enjoyed the Miss Universe pageant last night, fun to watch. Tomorrow night is the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. That's where the quarter horses come out. Told Ann to have the antenna adjusted and the electric blanket turned on.

Jimbo Fisher has resigned from Florida State to sign on with Texas A&M. You sure don't hear of this happening very often at major universities. Texas A&M Chancellor John Sharp said after Thursday's Board of Regents meeting that expectations were "nothing serious. We just want him to win a national championship."

Why wouldn't he do that? $75 million reasons to do that. Had a great season at Florida State didn't he.

Sumlin went 51-26 in six seasons. Fisher went 83-23 in eight seasons with three ACC crowns and a national championship.

Fisher's Christmas tree was thrown to the curb early Friday afternoon:
