I agree 100%. One day I will get together with some of these guys (and gals?) and take them up on their offer. Only issue I have is most of my trips are not planned very far in advance and come up last minute or night before. But I am sure eventually I will be able to meet up with some of those on this board.

No one's advocating misinformation. As CF said, there will simply be a couple of key pieces of information missing from some posts.
The point I was making is If 100 people go to lets say Burnt Mills each day for 4 months and keep 25 fish each day this 711 acre would remove 3,000 fish legally. It wouldn't be good for the lake.

You don't know if people put up miss information just to throw people off. The only point I was making is that the board is built on trust.
Keep some for the pan, let the larger ones go back for another day!

Like I originally said, I feel guilty not disclosing where I am fishing (when on small lakes) BUT have watched Western Branch and Burnt Mills get fished out. With as many members and lurkers we have here on this site I have to believe that publicly stating where I (and others posting as well) was fishing contributed to this decline. You folks in the rural areas need to remember that we have over 1.4 million people within 30 miles of the Suffolk Lakes and once word gets out it doesn't take much to put a hurtin on the crappie population.

Tap you may want to talk to VGIF. They may need to regulate this lake and restock it

i agree with gene as a matter of fact when i fish for crappie you would be suprised at the amount of fish i catch hopping the jig off the bottom and always watch your line. i see more hits than i ever feel.

It's not at the point of needing restocking. On Burnt Mills it's rare to get a crappie over 10" now, it's the lack of big ones that is disappointing. Western Branch is just no where near as good as it was in 2007. These are water supply lakes and fishing is not a priority for the powers that be.

Boss Tapout is correct at least about WB. I have seen a certain group hover around varouus location and keep every fish (which is within their rights, Sportsmanship be damned). The trouble is these lakes are small and it is nearly impossible to hide. There are those armed not only with electronics but with binoculars (use a small telescope myself). While not posting the particular lake may ward off some I doubt that it will stave off the "lurkers" for long. Remember your car sits in an open parking lot. At best you can hope to delay the problem. All of this does tend to cause aggravation and I do not see a cure all answer.
The only hope is for eveyone to respect others and parctice good sportsmanship, yet I am not so dumb as to think this will happen.

I do my part. I've caught 2,631 crappie so far this year and probably have brought home around 80 so that's nearly 97% released.
