I can see why some people wouldn't say what lake they fish or what they use .It's a lot of hours of fishing to figure out a body of water. On the other hand I'm a firm believer in luck and technique .So in my opinion i think you should only give the info you feel comfortable giving . We are a special breed of anglers so happy crappie hunting .![]()

There's value in any post related to crappie fishing. quote from Mr Corker. AND I agree.
I fish mostly saltwater, but lurk on here all year because it is a good board. I see 2 types of crappie fisherman,
1. Want big fish mostly
2. Want all they can catch to eat
I fish for about 4 hours and I am done, I try to keep 5-6 10" fish for my wife and I. I went to a BM bash once and there were about a dozen boats fishing the bash, I got cooked and was not catching much so left early as did most, I read that only 3 stayed all day. It was brutal hot.
As far as giving up the body of water I stopped doing that ( for some areas)on account of getting slammed by others. I do think folks read this board and go take advantage of information and never contribute. I did give up good details on a specific location and the next weekend I could not fish there were so many boats in the honey hole. I stay all day at the NWR bash but I am usually done by 1 or 2 and its hard to stick around. I truly enjoy the photos and I think they make you want to get out more and go fishing.
I will tell you one thing for sure I spent hours at BM and did not catch 40 fish. Some folks have developed good fishing skills and they think it is so easy. It is learned and hooking those little fish is great practice and is an art. I took my daughter to BM and she caught one fish all day, and I caught about 25, she just could not hook them. I simple told her to cast out count to 3 and start reeling and there would surely be a fish on. No, it did not happen for her.
I have never been to buggs but want to go. I fish mostly NWR but have not been there since around May. I will start back soon unless the SW specks and puppy drum are hitting hard. If I gave up me flattie honey holes it would be over.
OH most important
GO PUT OUT BRUSH
It will be your own personal honey hole for only awhile then others will find it and check it out.
The more there is the better fishing will be.
Briary Creek will give up the next state record crappie.
It is the only body of water consistently giving up 3# fish.
Now you go find them and post up what they are biting, and how deep and in which creek arm or under the power line or by the American flag, just make sure to give up enough information so that I can go there and find them.
As you can see by my post count and join date, I don't post much. However, I do check out the site from time to time. I spend too much time chasing bass, flounder, striper, red drum, etc. If it has fins, I want to catch it. I would agree that the best information posted here is in regards to patterns. I like the detail of how, not where. You can almost always take that information and apply it to similar bodies of water to give you a starting point for your day. I really don't care about the where.
