Be prepared to be impressed when you get the tiny line. You’ll see me write about Nanofil and know that nothing I have found casts anything like it. But I’ll also be the first to say that it isn’t for everyone and it’s frustrating even to me. I’ve been using it about two years and have landed some fish over 3 lbs and on the next trip it will part, midline, for no apparent reason. Alphahawk has gotten away from it too and I’m not far. When you put this light a line on, be sure to make your first casts into open water. You aren’t ready for the way it will travel and if it’s towards shore it’ll wind up in the trees. Mine did. I use about 3’ of clear Stren 4lb for abrasion from crappie sandpaper teeth. The 7’ rod and a moderate level reel, loaded with backing and then adding the braid, will be so much fun that you’ll turn some of your other rods into something similar. Have fun and keep us posted.
