With a Shakespeare 6.5" Micro Light rod, and Berkley FireLine Micro Ice 2Lb. line... I can get about 50' from a single 1/64 trout magnet, and much more with a tandem rig.

Wow! That's awesome, I will put a reel with 2 lb test on my Shakespeare 7 ft and see what it does. I can't recall if I have tried that line on this rod. I know I have tried 5lb braid on it and it does probably better than any other rod n reel I have at this time.
You need the 2 Lb. Fireline :

Be prepared to be impressed when you get the tiny line. You’ll see me write about Nanofil and know that nothing I have found casts anything like it. But I’ll also be the first to say that it isn’t for everyone and it’s frustrating even to me. I’ve been using it about two years and have landed some fish over 3 lbs and on the next trip it will part, midline, for no apparent reason. Alphahawk has gotten away from it too and I’m not far. When you put this light a line on, be sure to make your first casts into open water. You aren’t ready for the way it will travel and if it’s towards shore it’ll wind up in the trees. Mine did. I use about 3’ of clear Stren 4lb for abrasion from crappie sandpaper teeth. The 7’ rod and a moderate level reel, loaded with backing and then adding the braid, will be so much fun that you’ll turn some of your other rods into something similar. Have fun and keep us posted.
when i drop to line weights as low as 2 lb test no matter the brand the casting ease sometimes triples . some of it is so thin it slips thru the cheap eyelets on the jigheads though .
and it seems to love a real soft rod and a good drag if you want to land anything other than a sunfish .
gently is the word with it
