Waiting to see water levels for ramp availability. Will post as soon as possible. Most likely in town of Oologah, exact place to be announced.

Any chance we can move the date for the Oologah tournament to another weekend? Maybe wait until the water settles down?

The reason I ask is because May 19th is graduation day for many area high schools including Oologah High School.

As much as I have been looking forward to fishing in this tournament, I will have to decline since I will be attending my little sister's graduation ceremony. I think there are others who will be in the same boat (pun intended).

meatdragger, that is a great idea i think, although i have no ties to the graduation, if we can benefit in a couple areas by switching the dates then maybe its a good idea. The more teams we can get to enter this the better!

The Corps of Engineers projection for the lake level come tournament day is 2-3' above normal. They increased releases this morning at the lake. Now granted that is baring we don't receive any more rain on it's water shed before then.

As some are chiming in on moving the date, I for one will not be able to fish if the date is changed. My work schedule is not in favor of a later date. I am just one voice and I fully understand the graduation situation as well. Family first.

As of right now the date will remain the same. It is impossible to pick a date that everyone can attend. Heck I missed the last one due to my boy having a track meet. I am sorry about graduation, I am just glad that family is coming first. It always does for me. I hope the lake goes down some between now and then, but if not we will just have to catch them with it up.

Good luck to those who can make it out. I was looking forward to fishing the tournament on my home lake. Perhaps we can have another one on Oologah later this summer. I hate to have to wait a whole year!

Default Oologah tournament moved to July 7th

After going out on the lake and looking around for about 3 hours, I consulted with EB and Ranger, we have decided to move the Oologah tournament date to July 7th. The lake is extremely muddy and 9 feet high. It has a lot of floating logs headed toward the dam with the lake being pulled. We feel the conditions are not what we find suitable and are going to move the date. Hopefully this will not be too much of an inconvenience for all of you.

See all of you on Ft. Gibson!!

Although the Oologah tournament got moved for different reasons, I sure am glad we didn't have it today. I hear the Big O can get rough on a windy day like today. I would hate to think we would have had to fish it in this wind, 20-30 mph.

    Again great call guys.

Yeah, it would have been pretty hairy! It should be pretty calm come July.
