My grandmother ran Sperry Lumber yard for years. Mrs.Lillian Rogers. My great grandmother ran Turley Lumber yard. I see it has been torn down and gone for many years, but I worked many a summer day. I always hated when we had to get a load of Penta, or Creosote poles in. I'd would have much rather hauled hay fo my grandfather than deal with those hot oily poles. That stuff would burn the crap out of you!!

By the way, I fished Skiatook again yesterday. I didn't have much time, so I just ran up to Hwy. 20 bridge. It was dark by the time I got home, so no pictures, but I did clean 23. Some black crappie in the bunch. Not as big as the last time, but still made a nice mess. All on jigs.

The dock at Bull Creek Penninsula or the dock at Twin Points both have brush under them and I've cleaned a ton of crappie from both of them. Take some minnows.

Okay, go to the Bull Creek Penninsula rec area, the dock by the boat ramp is a great place to catch crappie all summer long. Use medium minnows with a small split shot above it and drop it down 10 feet or so around the dock. There is brush all around it and you will find it. The exact same thing goes for the Twin Points rec area dock. You may have to wade through some small ones, I usually lower my minimum size restriction when I'm there to about 8 inches. You will catch fish this size all day long.

Now my favorite spot is under the bridge at Bull Creek Penninsula. The bridge is west of the park entrance. Just walk down under there and fish. I think the east side of the bridge is the best, I hardly ever fish the west side. Get down under there with some minnows and slip corks. Set your depth on your slip cork to about a foot above the bottom when you cast out by the first set of pillars. In the late spring you can catch alot of fish here. Later in the summer they move out to the deeper pillars and you will need a boat. You will know the fish are biting there because there will be boats tied up to the pillars.

Good luck and let us know how you do.:D

well i tried the bull creek dock.we fished from 8:00 sat nite to bout midnite with no luck.so we turned in figured we would try again in the morning .we stayed the nite in the park so we could beat the early crowd.but since the rain was out.we had the place to our selves most the morning.we started again about 4 A.M..didnt start biting till about 6 then it was slow go.we took home 25 keepers thought ..there were a few dinks to but all in all great fishing.. had a blast.not one of these 50_60 days you guys talk about but very enjoyable for a first time crappie catcher.. i quit by 10.A.M..prob would have got a few more if i would have stayed..i rested a little went back to look and there were 3 full familys with 2 yr olds in tow.so for me the fishing was over..i chated with the locals and one guy said the CORE had shut down the fishing on the dock at Twin Points.and that this might happen to bull creek..I sure hope not this would be a terrible loss to a shore stuck fishermen as i am..(for now..lol).this is a great place to take a child to learn to fish or simply some one who cant afford boats, gas, ect ect..the Core should create more of these public access fishing docks.they should be made to in my opinion..Thanks for the tips on the area .i'm sure ill be making another trip soon...Keep Fishing
