i guess im one of those skiatook "jerks", but it sure makes me happy to share any knowledge or spot with anyone. the way i see it on the dead sea the more fishermen the faster we can clean out those dinks.

If there anything I learned about putting in brushpiles...you better be prepared to have others find them and fish them.

That's OK with me..I feel once I drop it, it belongs to everyone to enjoy. I do feel the proper etiquette is to give others room while they're fishing a particular spot, but once they're gone, it's open to anyone who comes along. If you don't maintain this attitude, you're going to spend more time being frustrated than enjoying fishing.

Don't get me wrong, I love fellowship through fishing, but don't rub against my boat to fish a spot if you don't even at least know my name. I'm all for making friends. But I have a lonely friend named Mossberg 500 that likes befriending "Jerks" LOL.....

Mental note, don't fish too close to Hog, HE WILL KILL YOU!

Good attitude Gambler, I wasn't wanting to know where your piles were, just how deep the fish were. But you already knew where I was coming from. Good luck and see ya out there!

Lol... Naw meat. I love my fellow fishing buddies. I've been treated rather rudely at Skiatook. I've had guys rev their motors up 5 feet away from me and make 5 foot wakes. Had my windows busted out of my truck. Had drunk idiots dive off a cliff less than ten feet from where I'm fishing etc...... I love fishing there, but it's never a peace of mind experience.

Very good attitude,Gamblinman. You can't put names on the brush piles. But I would never pull up close to anyone fishing a brush pile and I always throttle back when going by one being fished. But I have seen some very inconsiderate people on the water. I've had to leave my spot to keep from getting swamped, by skiers. It makes a guy have bad thoughts, to say the least!

    Default blah....

I love Oklahoma but this is the reason the Arkansas people have better luck! They are more than happy to share holes, share experiences, and share in the work involved in producing trophy holes for white/black crappie. I am not saying I disagree with the fact there are way too many people that are jerks but REAL fisherman know where to find fish even when they are not biting in the "honey holes" -- That being said...I have lived in Oklahoma for 2 years, I have put over 15 brush piles in Lake Skiatook and a few in Oolagah, and have only been fishing maybe once or twice on each lake. I have told several people where my spots are located in hopes they will give me feedback. When I finally get a boat I will start hitting them and put more out. If you ever need to know where a few really good "honey holes" are that I assure you nobody knows about, just PM me....I would be glad to share. The thing that makes me the most upset about fishing in OK is that the boats are not considerate at all to fisherman on the banks and the recreation boats, ski and wake boats, are very rude to smaller fishing boats while on the water. I believe if everybody pitched in to start making people more "aware" of their surroundings this would not be as big of an issue at least in our lakes. I like the pic, nice fish and congrats...they are also clinging to bluffs in skiatook right now about 15 feet deep in about 25 foot of water hitting on shiney hiney jigs of all colors... Hope this helps! Minnowman

Don't give up too much information about our brushpiles. Lord knows I worked my a$$ off dropping them in the lake last winter. At Skiatook, there are waaay too many jerks out there that call themselves fishermen, that wouldn't stop at anything to ruin a guys fishing if they're beat to the honey hole. Whatever happened to the 50 foot courtesy rule???

I couldn't agree more. Raise awareness of the fishing holes so that others can bring their young kids out to enjoy the crop. There is not shortage of dinks in lake skiatook, that is for sure!! Tight lines.... ;-) Minnowman

If you want to know where some new fishing holes are that hold good fish, get ahold of me and we can talk... :D I have put in a lot of work for the game and fish commission this year just as "volunteer" stuff.... I would be anxious to get a boat soon (must have a truck first, haha) so I can start asking some of the guys off this board to come along with me to lake skiatook and surrounding areas....they are biting at AB Jewel Reservoir over off 193rd in east tulsa - big 2.5 - 3 lb'ers can't wait to get a bucket of minnows and go slaughter a few!
