bump for recent report.
I'm headed out to Skiatook today. Anyone been out there lately or have any recent reports?
Thanks!
Thanks for the update Cast, I'm glad you got into them. Before I got a boat that was my main fishing spot. We would get there early just like you and catch em before the crowds showed up.
One thing you must keep in mind is those docks are for loading and unloading boats, not fishing. I'm actually kind of glad they did that at Twin Points because it gets really busy in the summer and sometimes the dock fishermen will refuse to yield to the boats. They just lay poles out on the dock and won't move them when boats pull up. I'm sure this is the exception, not the rule but it only takes one jerk to ruin it for everyone. I don't think they will do it up at Bull Creek though, it's a very popular fishing spot and the boat traffic is not as heavy there.

I have been fishing at Skiatook, the last 3 days, and have been catching mostly dinks, 36, 28, 12 keepers, Wednesday, & Thursday 2 of us, all on Minnow's, 8-12 deep, and always on the Shady side. My buddy caught more than i did, he had on Braided line, no jig. I used Mono, and tipped jig with Minnow, larger minnows seem to do better also.

Thanks Minnow Man!
Went to Skiatook yesterday and was able to fish for a little while. I'm not terribly familiar with the lake but after consulting a map I believe I was fishing near the Bull Creek Peninsula area.
We saw some timber and decided it was probably as good a spot as any. I fished jigs (BG baby shad Crystal). I was fishing in about 15-20 ft of water...and was probably around 10-15 ft deep. The fishing was slow but I did manage to catch about 10...all of them were small. I was happy to get out and actually catch some this time.
We also fished over towards Hominy Landing....just west of the bridge. Saw lots of shad schooling and caught some crappie just site fishing over the schools. I used the same jigs at both locations.
Fished Sunday morning around the Hominy Landing area and ended up with 20 nice fish. The biggest was 14", with the rest ranging b/t 10-13". We fished timber in 12-14 fow with slab slayers. The bite wasn't hot and heavy but they bit well enough to keep you busy. If you fished shallower or deeper you couldn't buy a bite.
Was that a bite?
