well only put 3 jugs out that's all I had time to finish and made them 30' long and put the hook at 25' and ended up catching 1 channel cat and an alligator gar and that's it the jugs were only in the water for maybe 3 hours and we caught a shad in the cast net and cut him up and just used him for bait

Caught 24 crappie, 1 sand bass and 2 blue cats on July 26th. Crappie in 13 ft. of water near the bottom. It's fairly slow, very light bite most of the time, but they are out there if you can stand the sun and heat. I quit about 12:30 as I can't take it anymore. Wonder if anyone is fishing at night?

Took the grandson out today. Hard to keep track of exact numbers with a 5 yr old but we caught approx 20-25 crappie mostly in 12-15 fow all within a couple turns from the bottom, 1 drum, 4 bass, and 4 catfish one of which went 3 lbs. Water was 86, with a nice breeze it actually wasnt to bad. Being on vacation like I am, I intend to be out there a few more times this week. Thinking of doing a night stalk too. We brought back 6 crappie that were all 12-14" and left the rest to grow. I told him we should have left the largest ones and brought some of the smaller ones home but he wanted the big ones to show mama!! Cant argue with a 5 yr old and expect to win!!

Fished the bird Tuesday. Got there about 10am and headed home about 430. Brought home 3 catfish with the largest just over 3 lbs. They sure are fun to catch on ultra light rods! Also brought home 6 crappie 8-11". Release the other 13 so all in all a nice day fishing. With a nice breeze although it was hot, it was tolerable! With the water continueing to drop, after leaving the marina to go to a spot I had in mind, i noticed some stumps in one of the coves I hadn't fished this year but had done well in years past. I went over and marked them first, like I didn't do when the water was down a few years ago, then fished them and that is where I caught all but 5 of my total for the day. Water was 85 and they were all hugging the bottom. Looking to go back Monday and/or Tuesday unless work allows before that!

I fished 9,12, and 15 fow and they were just off the bottom at all 3 places. Not sure about making it to the bridge. I have seen people swimming/wading quite a ways out from shore.

No problem, if you make it out there this weekend let us know how you do. Right now it looks like I may do some night fishing Monday that may run into Tuesday!

Thanks for the report. I, too, am considering a night fish this weekend or first of next week. Hopefully, we will start getting some Fall temps soon. When we do, I got a lot of missed time to make up.
The best time to fish is whenever you can.
