Sounds like you are on your way!
Hit a windy point on the north side last night from 7:30-9. Bagged one keeper crappie and 2 17-18" saugeye. Also 2 dinks and a pumkinseed. All were caught on 1/8 oz yellow jighead with spinner blade and white shad swimbait. All my luck has come with reflective lures (chrome ratltrap included). BTW since I've been posting a bit lately I might as well introduce myself - my name's Will and I'm a graduate student at OU. Thanks for all the tips I've gotten from y'all so far. Good luck out there!
Oh out of curiosity I've been checking to see what's in the stomachs of the fish I've been keeping for dinner. Saugeye and crappie have all had empty bellies. The sandies however all had tons of very small bugs that looked like lightning bugs. Not sure what's thats worth to anyone but there ya go.
A general rule of thumb with me when fishing from the bank when crappie are shallow is fish the side of the lake the wind is out of on windy days. So on a day the wind is out of the south I would fish the south end not the north. I think this way because if I was a crappie I wouldn't want the wind smashing me up against rock, timber or whatever.
FRMBAMA I believe I fished with you all last weekend. I am heading out to Little Axe Saturday afternoon if you wanna fish some more. I really wish we could find a not as crowded dock to fish off of.
Welcome will sounds like your doing.just fine
Try some coves over by fisherman's point bama they are easy access and less crowed
