I am only trying to make a point. Would the cops have reacted the same if the guy had told the cops that he would testify on his behalf? Maybe the cops were having a bad day, or the big ones wife or BF has been cheating on him? We don't know. Regardless, it does not give the cops the right to infringe on someones first Amendment rights. The guy didn't break the law in the first place, so how in Christs name could he be charged with resisting arrest since there was no legal reason to arrest him to begin with?

Another thing, there's been a trend for police officers to make people stop taking pictures or video taping things. This in itself is an infringement on a persons right. Does the public have any say about dash cams? The police will always act right when they know they are on camera. It's the thought of them being caught doing something above the law that they have trouble with. A good officer deserves respect from the public, an abusive officer deserves squat and in most cases, should be arrested. Just because the guy wears a badge doesn't make him the "good guy". As in any walk of life, job, politician, or race of people, you have the good mixed with the bad. It's up to the good, to police the bad.

I hope he owns the Denver pd. These cops were out of control ! They are not above the law !
I think PETA will be coming after the cops too because the dogs had to watch his owner get beaten. I will surely help Heidi with her reporting on this case if she needs it ha ha
The charges were dropped against this guy because his 4th amendment rights were violated. I am sure that the NAACP will be all over this one with all 4 feet along with PETA. What if one of those dogs had been run over by traffic when this guy was having his mouth altered? Did they write him a ticket for not having control of his dogs during this beating? Maybe they could not because they were still on a leash. We lost the main focus of this story, did the other guy get a ticket for runing the stop sign? He should be the one having the beating administered for endangering others in the area by driving recklessly. I am sure that most cops like to keep bystanders away from the action and this guy obviously violated that space. Lawyer will make a lot of money and the citizens of Denver will ultimately pay the price.

Didn't really mean to make political hay out of it by saying nice conservative folks but that was in essence what I meant. Folks from nice neighborhoods who never see things like this act shocked by it as you are now. All I'm saying is that a certain demographic sees this on a daily basis. You guys in a lot of instances would applaud the police for this beating if it were a couple muslims running their mouths to the cops. Police are out of control all over the country. I know they have a very VERY stressful job but it's the job they signed up for and ultimately wanted. It does not however give them license to act like storm troopers. I know that in my hometown in particular a lot of the cops on the force were guys I knew in school and who were kicked around a lot in school by bullies and I'm sure in other places as well. They took this job with the possibility that they might get to repay those who were so mean to them as children. I wonder if these two were geeks in school too? No disrespect to honorable police officers is meant by this post but even you guys know that what I am saying has truth to it.

big E, I must agree with some of what you said. Cops are out of control in lots of places. They let their authority overload themselves at times. I have been talked to like crap by some police officers for no reason. I am one of the nicest and easiest going people you will meet. Some officers get out of hand when they need to address the situation a little more appropriately. I understand police never know when they will be attacked and always feel threatened, however some people never even fight back and they just keep on beating them. On the flip side of people taking this job to get back at bullies, I have seen bullies take the job just to have the so called authority to continue their bulliness. Some of the worst behaved people I know have become officers.
i'd say 80% if not more of the cops i'v met were jerks.......i knew a couple who were down to earth nice guys, one quit the force because of corruption and the other made detective and was murdered.........but in this here video, you cant tell what went down or why, but the beat down was taken to far, i think the guy has a case
I can only wish to be as good as my dog thinks I am
The sad truth is none of us will ever know the real truth! Between the
collusion of the powers that be and the common man there will be no truth
or only bits and pieces. The person whovever they hire represents his/her
future first and the clients second. We're all just a bunch of mushrooms:
Keep us in the dark and feed us crap!
