Sorry about my earlier thread bulldog. If you are killa at least you are being sensible now. I agree with everyone. You run into rude people everywhere. I'm sure I've done things to tick people off but did not do it on purpose. I fish Kentucky lake about every year and every year I've had a run in with someone. I try to avoid but if I think I'm right I'm not taking crap. Still hope to get to Miss. sometime. I don't care if it's catch and release. I just like to fish.

Hey Bulldog...I have an idea to keep people off "your" lake.
Tell the corps of engineers you don't want anyone from the rest of the U.S. to fish in "your" lake. Tell the fish and game people to raise the out of state fishing fees to over $50.00. and tell the gas company to raise the price of a gallon of gass to around $3.00 That will keep the rest of us away. When we come down there and get a daily limit of fish, we can't run them to the house and go back to the lake for another limit of fish, like the locals do. I saw that with my own eyes on Sardis lower lake. (It's to far)......oh wait .....
"your" state already is charging over $50.00 for a out of state license...and darn near $3.00 for a gallon of gas. Hummmmm may have to try something else. Ask some of the local wardens who is taking the most fish from "your" lakes.....I betcha it's the locals.... Stay off us yankees and quit your bitching.
Come on up to Missouri. The license are cheaper and we have some pretty good fishing here too........ Ya'all have a nice day now ya hear, and we'll see at the ramp........The Dog

i guess i'm a out of stater, since i stay in memphis, people from all over the united states have been coming to MS to fish before we could crawl, so whats the big deal,,,,DO YOU NOT CATCH ENOUGH FISH TO FILL YOUR FREEZERS?.. both resident and non-resident fishermen are stupid at times, you just got to learn to deal with it. if its a issue about non-residents catching to to to many fish, hmmm sounds like your local game warden is not doing his or her job.,,,NO WAKE RULES ARE ALSO BROKE BY MS BOYS, NOT JUST NON RESIDENT BOYS,,, IF NON-RESIDENTS PAY TO PARK AND LAUNCH THERE BOATS BEFORE YOU DO"""'SO WHAT""" JUST GET THERE A LITTLE EARLIER NEXT TIME.. I DONT THINK THE LAUNCH SITES ARE COMPLAING ABOUT GETTING THAT PARK AND LAUNCH FEE. GET YOUR OWN $BOAT RAMP$ AND THEN WE WILL SEE IF YOU HAVE A CHANGE OF HEART WHEN THAT GREEN HITS YOUR HAND.

Are we still fighting about this????

Seems like a waist of time to me. Nothing will ever change until the lakes get fished out, so why worry about it?

No but you can put them in your freezer that's in the back of your rv.

I live close to the lake and I fish in the morning untill it get's hot then I go home and come back after it cool's off and it's been years scent's I have gotten the limit. So what make's you think the locals are doing that. I know alot of local's and thay would never do that and I would turn you in ( in state or out)if i see it happen two.

    The freezer in my R.V.????
My pick up with my little john boat and my tent that I throw in the back.
Last thing I want to do is get caught with over my limit in another state.
You know post a bond or go to jail.......Yea that sounds like fun...
I spend three or four days of the year in your fair state, I'll be danged if I'm gonna take over my limit. Eat a few while I'm there and bring a few home.
I believe at last count my few fish cost me about $45.00 each. With fuel cost
license cost food and a few cold drinks. But hey It's worth it to get away for a few days every year.....The Dog

You are right on the money in saying our lakes are getting fished out. The fish are also getting starter with all of the fishing pressure!!! A crappie takes about 6-7 years to get to 3 pounds, and they just don't get that many years anymore. I talked to the guy that does all of the shocking and surveys on Grenada and he said that fishing pressure has quadrupled since 1998!!! He did say that only 13% of those people were from out of state though.

Your right, if you look at the tags at the ramp you would swear that half of the people there are from out of state, but thats now what the surveys showed. I left Choctaw ramp at 10:00 the other Mon. and there was 1 parking place left, and there were only 6 MS plates counting mine.

This is my point though, it will not help one thing for us to be rude to them, or bash them. If anything it pisses people off and makes them want to come back just to irritate you. If some laws are not changed, we won't have to worry about out of staters for very much longer, because they won't come if we don't have any fish.

Bulldog, lets start releasing most of our fish, this can only help, especially with size. I won't keep another one this year. What do you say?:D

    Unhappy Jeez

Do any of you guys ever fish out of state? I usually don't comment on this kinda topic but heres my 2 cents. As i said, do any of you guys fish out of state? Sure Mississippi has some of the best crappie fishin there is, but if you think your problems with out of staters, game hogs, and crowds in general is just happening there your sadly mistaken. Have never fished your fine state, and from some of the things i've read probably will not. Get used to it guys, theres umteen million people fishing now-a-days and theres only so many crappie lakes to throw a jig in. Fished Mark Twain last Sat. and went to Sandy Creek first, there must have been 200 boats in there. (Did'nt bother to check for out of state tags though) What i'm driving at is, trust me the problems you all are having is happening everyhere on every lake known for CRAPPIE. The only thing we can hope for is that the Conservation people implement changes or restictions to keep the populations strong. Also as others have said here, if you see some jerk braking the game laws. TURN THEIR BUTTS IN, it's as simple as that...izzy
