Welcome aboard here Waterboy.I am on Priest alot myself from the looks in the picture we have a same taste in boats also.

Mudbug check at Poindexters in Gallatin he has some in there with a good backbone for trolling and spider rigging about 20 bucks. He aint got alot to choose from but he is suppose to be getting more in.Stay away from the slab seekers too flimsy.

You can't ask for a better response to a problem, that's some great customer service being shown by Mr. Wells and the BnM company.I own quite a few BnM poles and would not hesitate to purchase more.

    Wink I had a feeling ....

that Jack would respond to this situation, and make it "all good". He's done as much for me, already. I haven't fished with a large variety of BnM products, but the ones I do have/use are "good stuff" ... and I enjoy using them.
Jack & BnM have always gone out of their way to foster good relations with their customer base, they've sponsored Crappie.com for years, and they were a generous contibutor Sponsor to the former Crappie.com Tournament Trail. They are greatly appreciated by the Crappie fishing masses.

Thanks, Jack ... for the fine products, and the great customer care that BnM presents.

I have fished BnM Poles for the past 26 years (I still have some that are that old ready to fish right now)and they are great poles and a great Company that supports crappie fishing to the fullest, the customer service is even better than that. Also as said previously, on poles in general, the main thing is to research the type of pole for the intended use and buy that pole to keep breakage to a minimum. Too many times I've seen a jigging pole etc. used for trolling and when it breaks they blame it on the pole.

this is my own .02....i think that bnm has a weak tip and for the price you pay for them you can get a much better rod...but then i the other hand i know people who will use nothing but bnm....i use ozark but for spidder rigging i use the new ugly stick lite crappie....way more back bone then the bnm and way stronger tip but like i said before that my .02 on the whole thing...

    Default Thank you Mr. Wells

I have a number of B'M fiberglass models that I started with and still fish with. Love them.

When I got serious and started buying graphite, I went with the WM 16 footers and I love them. Went with WM because of breakage complaints from friends (no personal experience) who had used the Bm graphites. I have broken no WM 16 footers and do recommend them, but, given the post from Mr. Wells, I will certainly try B'M next time I buy. That kind of direct response is pretty hard to find these days.

    hats off to you.

    Mr. Wells,

I admire you for coming on this forum and acknowledging that there was a problem with the glue used in the manufacturing of your companies rods, The fact that you are offering to make this right with your customers speaks volumes.
I guess you could say I am from the "Old School" chain of thought were
you live by your Word, Signature, and Handshake.
Now maybe I shouldn't have placed all the blame on B&M, After all the first
rod I purchased, The 10ft from Walmart in Grenada has served me very well and still does.
As for the three from Grizzly Jig company, Two might have had issues with the glue and I can see how this could have been missed! The one I replaced the tip eye on has been fine and I am OK with it, As for the one that the third eye ceramic pops out of, I will glue it in the next time it pops out and continue to use it.
But for the third rod (see links 1 & 2 below) this rod tip should have never been sent to me by Grizzly Jig as a replacement for a tip I returned because of a missing ceramic piece! I talked to a person that said he was one of the owners of the company and was told I could return the rod for a refund if I wanted but that they were not going to pay to ship another tip out! As I said before since I couldn't buy these rods locally I decided to keep it and file down the glue drip.
The third link below is of the same tip with the glue drip issue, Now if this
wasn't noticed (or maybe they just didn't care) at Grizzly Jig, Who is to say
that this tip didn't have a very fine crack or something else wrong that caused it to snap? This rod snapped while lifting a small clump of weeds (moss) out of the water while I was jig fishing stumps, I know for a fact that this rod would have been fine if there was no weak spot.

Mr. Wells in hindsight I probably should of just contacted your company on this issue
    instead of Grizzly Jig

    Regards,

    Daniel Reed

It is not my intent nor my desire to air any dirty laundry here on the board, but I certainly believe in honesty and I feel the need to explain the situation.

Long story short, our glue supplier (without our knowledge) tweaked the formula for the glue being used to hold the guides in. As a result, the adhesiveness was affected. We caught the problem quickly; but with the volume of rods we sell, sometimes quickly is just not quick enough. Since that time, we have inspected thousands of rods. We feel we have resolved the problem internally. Now it's time to resolve the problem externally with our customers.

Please email ([email protected]) the part number for the rod, and we'll replace the section. That goes for anyone here on the board, and is not limited to Daniel and Waterboy.

We work hard and and aspire to be perfect, but perfection is an ever-moving target. But taking of our customers will always be priority #1, and that is well within our control. Take advantage of it!

    Good Fishing!

Great to know you have good customer service. Thank you!
