Thread: Minn Kota i Pilot questions and answers

I always feel like a pessimist when I buy stuff because it always fails me. So far, my latest Terrova hasnt failed me. Ive only had it for 2 months though. I have the crappiest (no pun) luck with them dang trolling motors. Better than MG I guess. I thought mine was broke when I tried the I-Pilot features. Thought they had sent me a screwed up system again. I wanted to anchor with it and stay near the school. It moved way too much to be used as an anchor. I called them and they said it was normal behavior. It turns off when it gets close to the spot and then drifts away. I saw a GPS Anchor ( RHODAN MARINE SYSTEMS HOME - INVENTORS OF THE ORIGINAL GPS GUIDED TROLLING MOTOR ) at a show in Tampa and it actually sat still with no anchor. I think they charge a lot for their system but it is impressive. Not sure if I could afford it.

What diameter of a circle can I expect the i-pilot hold spot function to maintain realistically?

been using one for a bit and I find the spot lock work real well, couple times I wasnt sure it was going to bring me back to the brush but it did, and it was real windy, I like it verry much

I"m not sure how "tight" it kept me, but it "seemed" to be really good. I was quite impressed with the spot lock.

in regards to the transducer for a humminbird si - are you still able to mount it on the trolling motor - and if so - are there any special considerations? Thanks in advance.

I have a rainbow look to the screen or glass, makes it hard to see the details marked on the remote . anyone else have this problem. ?

are you looking at it through sun glasses? if you are that is the problem if not. new one on me

I wear a pair of Berkley polaroids and have the problem you discribed when looking at the remote screen.
