    Default Blue mtn beat down

Heard through the grape vine that blue mtn has been producing some big numbers of crappies , so we decided we would load up saturday morning and take a trip. Having never fished the lake before my expectations were not very high in regards to bringing home a large mess of slabs. In all honesty my goals were to locate some fish and maybe feel a thump or two. I can say now that I might have set my goals to low seeing as how we accomplished them within the first 15 mins of being on the water. We fished 12-14 ft deep in 30 ft of water and consistently stayed in fish all day. We had the best luck with muddy water baits (first time I ever used them....I'm sold) and arkie pro tube xl always tipped with a nibble. So after deciding that we had plenty of fish to clean and a 3 hour ride back home we left them biting and headed home with smiles plastered all over our faces. We ended up keeping 44
After a day like that how could you not go back for more?? So we rolled out of clinton and hammered on down to waveland for some more slab slaying. Got back into the same spot and immediately went to snapping wrists and burying hooks into lips. We couldn't stay all day , I had to get back home and go to a visitation for a friend I graduated high school with that had his life taken from him in shirley arkansas. Idk maybe we did so well bc Jonas sent them to me, I like to think so anyway. We got back home and had 26 keepers , we caught probably just as many fish as the day before but figured we would turn back some for seed. All things considered we had a blast and a very productive weekend can't wait to get that spiderlock in this week and get it mounted , I sure coulda used it this weekend.

Nice smack down! I guess it pays off when you get to shoot the breeze with a bunch of deer hunters all Fall and Winter! I'm about ready to get my limb lines ready to go for some monster flatheads! I'm sure I will see tall out there.
