Fished from noon til 1:30....wind was out of the South....went to the South end and the wind was blowing from the WEST....went to the West and the wind was blowing from the SOUTH. Mid lake was white capping.
Caught 1 dink crappie before the rain...decided to go home and clean my reels and respool, and get tackle organized for the rest of the week.

Got any idea what a 55 gallon barrel of cement would weigh Vern ?? Go ahead Doc and tell him. Don't forge the tree... I calculated 24" of ice will be necessary, a 18 ton truck to transport , I'm getting a head ache just thinking about it. I'm pulling yur leg. Ill talk to BUBA and see what happens. CJP

A 5 gallon bucket will hold sixty lbs + limbs....made this mistake a couple of times and had to have Don help me lift the stupid things....the sixty lbs wasn't bad, but the (6) 3-4 inch by 7 foot tall, fresh cut Oak limbs were way out of my capability!

The 55 gallon barrel would weigh a ton and a half!....heck we moved more than that, just in 10 hole bricks!

Intimidator, based upon a post you had made I checked out some of the new Seaguar braid while I was near a Bass Pro shop while I was traveling. I purchased two spools. It is a pretty amazing line so far. Thanks for the heads up.

Fished with Jeff today....then added Brad for awhile...it really didn't matter....this was probably the worst bite ever from a boat.
Water temp was 55 in the am and 57 in the pm. Fished From 9:30 to 3pm.
All I can say is that we found massive amounts of fish at all locations...AND MASSIVE SCHOOLS OF SHAD.
CJ is set up good....plenty of food for everything....and that was the problem!
I caught 8 fish all day, Jeff had 16 including a 14.5 inch Gator...he did managed a 12.5 Crappie...but that was all we could muster with all colors, styles, and techniques.
We had another friend and a few other boats out and no one was doing anything....I'm positive the evening bite would be better.
Met CrappieDreamer (Jeff) and talked for awhile...Great guy and willing to learn...hopefully we can get together and fish soon.
Got home, and my 2.8 Fat French Pearl were there....I needed them...most of my fish were off the easy shiner FP

Received an email today from The Army Corp Of Engineers at CJ, wanting to know the GPS locations of the new cover, so they could pass them on to the ODNR, Division of Watercraft, Park Management, and fishermen. I politely told him this was why we have disbanded, stopped the projects, and refuse to spend any more of our time and money adding cover to CJ.
I explained that we continued the projects with the understanding that GPS locations would not be given out as the cover was meant to improve the entire lake, for all fishermen, and not just areas for fishermen to sit 24/7.

Fished CJ from 11am to 3:00 today and to say it was SLOW would be an understatement to say the least. Five keeper crappie and more than that in dinks as well as a couple of white bass. Had a few of my Kietech bit off so I guessing the walleye we doing short strikes. Water was 56 to 59 deg with the warmest just out side the marina before I left. The fish I caught were in 12-18ft of water and a toss up on on live bate verses plastic swim bates. Had a break from farming the last few days but will be back at it Monday, hope winter is 8-10 weeks away as I don't want to put my boat and fishing poles away yet! Luck to all who fish CJ !!!!!!!
