yes only when your over it.if i had favored one side more than the other it would kinda fade out with the best image on the side the object is on
I am still learning how side scan works. Thought I better do that before I bought one. You kinda answered my question which was "do you only see the object on both the right and left sides of the screen when you are directly over it?" Kinda makes sense when you think about it. When I first saw your image I was thinking "Now how did that thing show up on both sides of the boat??"
Am I correct?

What kind of picture did you get going farther to one side? Does it show the mast and hull?
I was at Basss Pro looking (drooling) at the high dollar side scans, man you could see the branches on the trees and almost the scales on the fish. Amazing and for only $2700.00
I think we have figured out the 45deg. lines on the depthfinder screen. we were fishing and noticed air bubbles comming up beside the boat and then the lines appeared on both depth finders . We kept watching for bubbles and the lines always showed up on the depth finders... Just my 2 cents worth. Something to watch for.
Those are two good shots of what fish look like on the screens. Thanks for posting the pics
