Thread: Mr. Crappie Hi-Vis Line / P-Line

I use Mr Crappie hi vis line and love it. And yes it seems to have line memory on that spinning reel. I use P-line for bass fishing and like that too. The Pline seems to have less line memory. I use 12 pound p-line for bass. I do not use the 4 pound pline, it would be interesting if anybody uses the 4 pound pline. Either line would be good. Does P-line come in Hi Vis?

Yes, they call it flourescent green, which is the same thing as any other hi vis line. I've been wanting to get some of the CXX X-tra Strong 6 lb, but they are always out of it at the store. They always have 4 lb and 8 lb, but never 6 lb.

I have used Mr. Crappie in both 6lb. and 10lb. I usually troll with the 10lb. I can always straighten out a jig hook and have caught a bunch of fish on it.
I went with a guide on Weiss earlier this year and he was using 6lb. Sufix hi vis in tangerine. Pretty expensive stuff, but great line.

We use both Mr. Crappie and berkley transition gold. My brother in law really likes the Mr. crappie, but I like the Berkley. On the mr. crappie we have to change out after about 3 fishing trips. The berkley seems to last a lot longer but it cost more. We use 6lb and 8lb test.

I dont know about the hi-vis line, but i still can see OK. Ive got 8 lb. P line on all my trolling poles and I tie my own rigs with 6 lb. P line, If you tie your own rigs and put them on the same noodles you would jug with, there wont be any memory at all, they will look just like piano wire with the 6 lb. You dont need much line on your reel since your rigs always break before your main line. When your main line breaks twice in a row, take it off and put on some more (Every year or 2).
P line is good stuff, grizzly jig tries to keep it, but not in the big spools, and its usually at bass pro in the big spools.

dont know about the Mr. crappie, but I know that nearly everybody that makes him look bad in the tourneys are using P line

And by the way anybody know where you can buy the T's for crappie rigs, he long ones), the 3 way swivels are OK but the T's are better if your fishing
slow, less wraparounds.

Get your tee's at the grizzlyjig store. They have em at a good price too. As for the Mr crappie hi-vis line, I stripped it from the reels i had it on. 4# test was worthless. After only a few trips out, the line would weaken and break very easily. Memory was terrible too. Too many better lines out there to hassle with any type. Now i like the camo line. I've had it on my reel since spring and it's still going strong. 4# test too.

I use the Offshore angler stuff from bps and like it alot. About 6 bucks a spool and it's tough. The spools are the 1/4 lb size so you get like 3300yds of 4lb for the $6. A cheap experiment.

Ya'll have pretty much confirmed what I was thining about the Mr. Crappie line. I think I'm gonna try the P-Line or Suffix. The Suffix is pricey, but I have always heard good things about it. I might give the Offshore Angler a try too, Skeetbum. I remember you saying you liked it a while back.
