    Default Kentucky Lake

I am headed up to the lake tonight. Going to do some fishing tomorrow morning. I was wandering if anybody was still catching them up there. Any reports would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

......After what I saw when I was up there last week. (With the right eqipment) You could fish year round and catch multiple limits daily. YES DAILY.

We hooked up with a "guide/friend" (I really wouldn't call him a guide though, just a fisherman who has good electronics, and knows how to build a crappie bed/condo.) He showed us his 1850+ crappie beds that he has scattered across the lake, and mapped on his plotting software. Each bed has 60 pieces of PVC. Well, we had his GPS and went from bed to bed with the trolling motor. It was almost not fair, kinda like catching crappie in a stake bed.

    1. YOU WILL NEED A GOOD FISHFINDER ON THIS LAKE (most important!)

    2. Take one 12' jig pole and throw all spider rig equipment away.

    3. Buy every pink/white or pink/chart. jig at home. Don't try and get them on KY lake, you won't find them. (This color worked 100% better than any)

    4. Buy any color of Berkely Crappie Nibbles. Take off lid, let them dry out. (this way they get hard, and will stay on the hook longer.)

    5. Don't bother with minnows

Find any structure on your fishfinder, mark it on your gps or with a bouy/marker. Fish it, leave it, come back, hit it again.

    Repeat.

I'll PM you with some hotspots.

How come I catch fishes with minners then?

You right about the good electronics.

With only 1850 brushpiles, you friend is just a beginner.

We had most success in 10 FOW fishing 6" from the bottom. Slowly lifting, and dropping the jig. Good luck.
