Sounds like fun!
That's what I like to hear, getting you Texas boys fired up for this (even though Ferdi kept telling me he is from Ohio ). Just keep this event in mind fellas, thanks.

USAF Retired and fishing!
Well, I had just enough fun to try to make it again..........with a great big ole but attached to my sentiments. But, I ain't bringing no taters that need peelin' and slicin'.
If frozen taters don't work, bring your own and throw them in the fryer. I really enjoyed meeting a whole bunch of very amiable folks and getting a ride in an new
boat with frozen lids that had to be pried open. And that later date means I could give more thought to pullin' my 5th wheel to the park. I realize Slab was the
cause for all that snow showin' up like it did, but it was exciting for all that made the trip. Don't forget to remind some of us older active fellers that are so busy doing
other things that we might forget. Looking forward to the new year and seeing all of you'all again.
is there a motel near by???
Will do Joe, Ann and I will be looking forward to seeing you and Anna again.

Cypress Bend Resort is close enough and a nice place from everything I hear. It's located right next to Pendleton Bridge. I know they have some camp grounds over near the location as well. Also some cabins, but not much in extras at the cabins, but they are there really close. If you want a nice place I would say Cypress Bend would be it.
Most of us stay at the campground where the gathering is held. Here's the link, select Park, then San Miguel:
Sabine River Authority, State of Louisiana Toledo Bend Camping, Fishing Info
Good discounts for senior citizens. We rent the large enclosed pavilion (lodge) which has plenty of room for everyone, and very comfortable to get out of the weather.

You'll have a great time Chuck, won't meet any folks nicer than this bunch. Really looking forward to next Feb. Keep an eye on the Louisiana State Forum as well as the Texas forum and Randy will be posting all the pertinent information leading up to the festivities. It is a good idea to get reservations early though so you are sure of having a place to sleep. Ferdi
