woody, i learned years ago not to take my boat down there. The underwater stumps will kill the prop on your boat. i am staying at eaglenest resort starting friday its in the middle of all the action ( not far to travel anywhere on the lake where the crappie is biting at). oh boy your bringin the wifes no shopping areas around this place, the casino boat is about 45minutes away they like to gamble. theres anice boat ramp next to the park in kirbys pocket to launch your boat, plus dont have to travel far if hitting in kirbys pocket or palenstine stumps or bluzzard slough. get a map for there help you find channels so you dont have to tear up or prop. in tiptonville there a ramp there to thats good not sure of the name though. good luck by the way ill be fishing right next to gator or cracker they know where the fish are at

Monkey, you reckon a guy could fish next to you, Cracker and Gator. Gator will have the snacks (cheese flavored goldfish , twinkies), lol. Thanks for the info. Hope the prop stays safe. I have a prop protector on my 25 merc, it is a macs river troller, ring goes all the way around the prop. I use it when im duck hunting, I get in shallow water alot and knock on wood its done its job. The wife dont gamble, but I will be if the fish aint biten, lol. Hope to see some of you guys down there.

    Default Don't like to gamble

Bring the wife is always a gamble!!! LOL But If the fish aren't biten you could be teaching the young'n to play ball at a late age.
When I First saw the crappie monkey he was hang from a cypress by his tail dangling his bananna toward the water trying to catch a fish. I feel sorry for the poor lad and tried to teach him the finer points of fishing but Monkey's don't seem to have the motor skills or IQ to grasp the finer complaciaties of crappie fishing!!! So it was only naturally that he pickup on the Netting thing. (closest thing for him to catch fish) Not having the proper motor skills with him netting it was an adventure every time he went for the next. Being the thoughtful being that I am and not wanting to discourage the young primate I told him that I never seen anyone net like that before. He took it as a complement and call himself the master of the scoop and swoop!!! Now he follows me around the country like a dog looking for a bone. I have to keep a box of twinkles and a bunch of bananas in the back of the boat so i can get some fishing in!!! Still while I am trying to slip up on a stump to jig he is in back jumping around the boat sing I got the net boss you get DA fish!!

I will be there around lunch on Friday, I usually have my radio on and on channel 1. Just depends on the wind where I will be.

    Default Fair-weather fishermen...

Where were you guys this past weekend (Gator, Cracker)??? You guys afraid of a little wind and cold weather??:D All I can say is the fish don't know when it's windy...however they do know about the temp. We fished Friday & Saturday. Limited out Friday in the pads and then did pretty good on Saturday. Didn't fish Sunday...Easter. Fished yesterday and did rather well in the "ole stalk bed." Fish were finiky and wanted the jig..ooops ...sorry about that hint; SLOW.

You guys PM me and I will give you the skinny.

    Later,
    cypress

    I need some Copenhagen...got any??

I wouldn't have guessed you would have wore them out in the pads friday, I figured that 19 degree temps would have knocked them out of the pads some.
I guess when there are 2 foot waves it makes it 4 foot deep in 2 foot water.

I guess I'm getting old can't take 30 degree temps and 2 foot waves pounding me all day. I dream of those 85 degree days with a very slight
breeze now. I gotten where I don't even attempt it anymore if there is 10mph wind it just isn't relaxing having to fight the wind. Now rain and cold and heat don't really bother me. But I hate the wind.

    Unhappy Bad weekend

Garage caught fire and been on major cleanup mode did not lose a lot! But a lot of smoke damage and recovering from smoke inahaltion got to keep taking inhalor treatment to clean lungs. But did save the poles and fishing equipment got it it before roof caught fire just lost a little corner. Turns out it was electrical a nail shorted out wire going into the wood burner just enough to overheat line but not enough to blow the fuse. Lucky I juess, cleaned up enough to go fishing now!!! see ya at the foot Gator Bait.I wonder if the crappie prefer smoked flavored minnows!!!!!!!!!!!!
