riding around the lake at half idle throwing the biggest wake their boat will possibly make. if you have any thoughts of being considerate to people fishing, then either burn it wide open to where you are going, or ease by at slow idle. these two speeds create the least wake. don't be so stupid or inconsiderate.

ps, i don't give a crap if you are watching your new side scan or not.

I had that happen to me the other day while fishing in a quiet little creek. Several boats came back to check out the area and had their engines at 4K RPM with the bow up in the air like Flipper doing a dance on the water. What knuckleheads....they should either putt-putt idle by or crank up on plane and stop making 4ft wakes!

On Reelfoot I'm a putt putt guy. I'm still learning the lake on where you can run and can't. I saw a lot of folks last week running wide open but they knew where to run, on the other hand the rental boats put out a big wake but they only have a 6hp motor on them. Some folks just don't give a crap!

I fish generaly 3 to 4 days a week. I did nto go for a month. Could not get geared up about going for some reason. Went on Friday. First spot I could not fish at all. No wind. Just a rolling lake due to all the people running around. 95% of them couldnt catch a crappie if it jumped int he boat with them. Second spot I went, started catching fish and getting bit real good. People planing out all around me, people running half cocked all around me, rental boats full of real nice yankees with a couple casting rods riding around with the 6 horse motors stopping every 100 yards casting and casting in wide open water with no clue then scooting over another 100 yards. First time I can remeber not even feeling like fishing. I packed up with about 1.5 hours of fishing time in. What did I do??? I got my rig up on pane and road around the lake like everyone else was doing just wasting gas. I felt better riding around than i did fishing. Its starting to get to the point I really dont give a crap about fishing at Reelfoot. Would much rather be in a river bed somewhere by myself. When they hit the banks real good i will be back out there cause boat traffic wont bother me where I will be fishing. River is on a slow rise, my oxbows are just right. bet you i learn to fish reelfoot in the heat of the summer this year. Im not getting out there with the yahoos trying to troll with my rods bouncing 3 feet in the air. And in the winter time when the snitches tell where the fish are and everyone is fishing on top of each other I will figure something else out then too.

yall can have it.... my rant is over :D

Amen brother.... But it's not just Reelfoot it's everywhere...where did these people learn how to operate a boat? ...look behind ya if your wake is putting out rollers SLOW DOWN its that easy. I've been fishing miles from nowhere and a boat will go by then will slow down turn around and come by us at half throttle and just stare at us ????

Most people on Reelfoot are scared to go fast. So they run just before planning off and dig deep and making those big rolling waves. Couple of years ago I had big fiberglass boat come in hot and shut her down about 30 yards straight in front of me.. put water in my lap... Then he had the nerve to ask if I was catching any.... I said yea untill some big idiot drove into my lap wide open.

I had several people last week run by me at less than 50 yards from my boat. One guy was no more than 20. At that range, I don't care if the idiot is on plane, you're gonna get rocked.
