Friday was bad on reelfoot. I have never had my blood pressure get that high while fishing. The boat traffic was constant! If people would leave their hooks in the water their odds go way up on catching fish. As it was though they were doing a great job of keeping the fish shut down. I truly believe that boat traffic can shut down a bite.

i putt around 90% of the time cause im in no hurry.and i usually find someone in my spot and when i go by another fisherman i slow down .but have had several idiots running wide open by me in bledsoe creek.if they knew what i know they would be putting also.last fall i had one of those bassmaster women come hauling by me at around 60mph in bledsoe.i tryed to get their attention to tell them to get to the other side of the creek and they snarled their noses at me.i just shook my head.about 70yds later they had motor in the air and trolling motor down and stuck it.serves them right for not listening to me.

Unfortunately, these knuckleheads are the same ones that cut you off in traffic...turn without the use of their turnsignals, etc....it does get old, but then you get the seasoned fishermen like us who slow down to a crawl whenever we get close to someone it snaps you back to reality and let's you know that there still are some good guys still out there....like Dad used to say "2 wrongs don't make it right"...let's keep doing what's right and maybe, just maybe the knuckleheads will eventually learn some water manners (don't hold one's breath). Know where you are coming from! Fished Priest last week, at the mouth of Spring Creek, the fools were in full force!

I'd like to say that they were pleasure boaters, but I was run by at full throttle at a distance of less than 40 feet by at least 4 bass boats. Made many single finger suggestions and some verbal suggestions about peoples family histories.

Let's just suggest the state of Tennessee as a no-wake zone?

I fish Lake Graham (no wake speed on entire lake) occasionally, and a local private lake where only trolling motors are allowed. I have to admit that it is very nice. Even on the big water, I often only use my outboard twice... once from the ramp to the area I am fishing, and again back to the ramp (and I try to pick the ramp closest to the area I am fishing). I realize that it sometimes keeps me from catching as many fish as I could if I burned the water up like many others do, but that is just how I enjoy it.

I was up in eastfork and had a fool come by me at mock 3, I got tiered of trying to let people know about that small gap at the first gravel bar...they look at ya like your stupid and they know it all.

A few minutes later this same young man came by with the aid of a trolling moter.

People don't care anymore..it's always what's in it for me the rest be da!@*

a shame, I just like to get out and fish with the kids..pull in some crappie and gills but people like that mess it up for all. Just my 2 cents.

I have to agree with everyone. Last time out I fished Loudon and Turkey Creek. As I approached the bridge from the main channel I shut it down and idled through the bridge since there was a boat fishing the rip-rap just past the bridge. I passed them and once a good distance away sped up. After we finished fishing we loaded up to leave and I saw the folks still fishing the rip rap. I idle toward the bridge and watched another boat come hauling the mail through the bridge. They flew into Turkey Creek made a big turn and blasted right back out. They never slowed down. Their wake rocked the rip rap fisherman, they rocked me, they rocked the shore, they stirred up the mud and they stirred up the fishermen at the rip rap and they showed their appreciation both verbally and visually and I understand why. I am glad my son was with me; it gave me a good chance to show him what idiots are really like. To be honest I did not have to say anything he just shook his head and mumbled something about arrogant idiots that think they are too good to be respectful of others. Made me feel good that he caught on.

You fellows need to do as I do and carry a 12' surf rod with a #90 spinning reel loaded with a 6 oz sinker and a 9/0 catfish hook. This rig will easily cast 100 yards and put some fear into these jerks.

Hey Guys, love all the posts. One thing more,(and most of the time my two cents don't count) don't forget about the little guys sitting on the bank, they deserve a break to.

yes sir u r right about the bank fishermen everyone should slowdown for those guys too. the awfulist cussing ive ever seen was given to a guy in a bass boat by my dad while we were fishing from the bank.we were fishing the gallatin steam plant canal when a boat came blasting by us to the dead end.that was the wrong thing to do.there was 15 or 20 bank fishermen catfishing when this idiot done this. my dad told the guy he should slow down people were trying to fish.and he said to my dad that the best thing he could do is blank blank that boy and get the blank out of there and blank his mouth.im the boy at the time 12 or 13 yrs old. if that guy would have gotten close to the bank or came over there it would have been ugly. he went by so fast that we had to grab tackle boxes so water wouldnt wash them into the water. this is probably the worst boater ive ever seen. hope i never see that again as i am older now and dont know if i could stay calm. sorry for the long post
