thanks guys for all the info-i believe i get the idea now. here's a picture of a spot where we catch a lot of our biggest crappie and best numbers in the day time. usually around the 18ft brush fishing 6-8ft deep above it. we always mark shad at the mouth of it but have never tried to fish it much. would the area at the mouth in 30ft of water be a good set up for nightstalk?
and how deep do you set your lights?

Fishing lights
From your map that looks like a good spot to me. As far as lights I guess it depends on which kind you have if they are the submersables just under the water 6" to 10" any further and you willl get tangled when you catch a fish. If you are catching them in the day there I'd say you will get them at night. Just be patient they will come to you. I hope you do well if you have a decent night you may get hooked on nightstalking. And with summer coming up I know you"ll like it, no other boaters. Just in case here is a link on nightstalking.

Hey Slab, I use the Q-beams that you can buy at Walmart fairly cheap. I usually drop them a couple feet down and I'll use one for every person on board.
The spot you marked on your map is a good one. It looks like there would be a good drop off to 30 feet and that's where you want to be. As funfishing said, Be patient and they will come to you.
I've never fished Keowee and wouldnt want to steer you wrong but if those drawings on each side of the place youve marked are boat ramps you might be asking for some trouble keeping the boat still enough to see the bites. At night I always think I'm the only one fishing until I come back into the ramp and the parking lot has PLENTY of vehicles there. Just another something to ponder..........
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Thanks guys-the two funny looking things on my pathetic drawing on each side of the channel are boat docks.
Left work early this morning to try our luck in stamp creek and went past the wooden bridge. We only got to fish 4hrs but did okay once we figured out a pattern. Not sure whether or not these crappie were spawning but they were on the banks. After we wasted about an hour and a half on some brush we found them running the banks in pockets.
caught 12
missed a hundred it seemed
caught one 2+lber and i only had my cam phone. i'll get a cable and download to the computer tomorrow hopefully and put it on after my butt gets wet playing golf.
Hope ya'll have a good weekend and watch the storms-we're having a rough one right now-knocked out power for a while!
Thanks for the report!! That sounds like it was fun.
I'm going to head out there tomorrow but will be in the Crowe Creek/Mile Creek area. Hopefully, I'll be able to catch a few during the day.
good luck Cleon-wouldn't think that they would be that shallow in those creeks-aren't they usually a little cooler?
