Ray take care of that knee.
If you motor is a Mercury it may be just the way the motors water output is working. On my 1996 40 hp that came on my panfisher it never looked like it worked right as it just spit water out the back instead of having a stream of water. I even changed pumps after I was told it was alright because it just didn't look right to me.

    Thanks guys.
Hey Dave, still got your heater waiting to bring up in July if not before. Good news is I found the owners manual while looking for something else in my shop.

On the water pump issue guys, there is definately something not working. Mechanic told me let it run to see if the thermostat would open up. Well before it did the temperature alarm came on. Scared the &$## out of me, never had one go off before.
Even if there was something else wrong, I figured I fried the impeller by letting it run dry that long. My mecahnic told me it was working Monday when I picked it up, so that is why it is going back to him.

An old impeller is like an ole tire, it can come apart very easy. A new one you have to turn it the correct way when you install it to flex the vanes or it will run against the direction and do the same. And....and ya gotta hook a water hose and foot cup to the motor to test it, if the alarm went off and you had that on there the impeller for sure is not functioning.

As for that leg, get two boards and some duct tape, place boards on leg and wrap with tape, then you can hop right along.

Hate to hear about the knee Ray.......... I tweaked my right knee a few years back Doc pulled a bunch of fluid out, sure felt better at the time, but still ain't right.

I'm a little surprised your mechanic didn't recommend you replace the impeller when he checked out the motor, Did you tell him it sat for 18 months?

Ray that sucks, but welcome to what they call "OLE AGE".. I was going to call and see if Steve and I could come by Sunday afternoon, but... what can I do to help. Take your boat to the shop, come and help on the bathroom... let me know.
