    Default Holy Cra###

Somehow, I tweaked my right knee last Tuesday and it has been painful for over a week. Finally, yesterday it seemed about 80% OK. My "new" boat appears to not be pumping water so this morning I decided to run it up to the lake just to make sure the ear muffs I was using were not the problem. When I went to step up on the ramp, about 16" high, without thinking I stepped up on my left foot, leaving my right leg to support me. Something popped and now I can hardly walk.

Headed to the Dr. at 2:30 to get it looked at. Never had any kind of joint problems and no family history so this is a mystery to me. In the middle of trying to swap over from one boat to another, climbing in and out, garage a mess of tools and stuff and now I can't walk. On top of that we got a sink out in the guest bathroom hoping to get it replaced before the grandkids come for a visit at end of month.

    Fun times at SeaRay's house.

    Dang what a day!
Take care with that knee or you'll be getting some expensive repairs done to it.
For you water pumping thing check the outlet Mud Daubers are bad about filling the hole with mud. Easy cure just take a small drill bit and screw it into the mud a little at a time till it's cleaned out

    Grady,
I've had a run it with the dirt daubers before so I know what you mean.
This is the stick steer boat I just bought. I took it to my mechanic to check everything out. He said the water pump was fine when I picked it up Monday, but I could not get it to pump water yesterday. I am taking it back to him Monday. He has been pretty good taking care of my other Yamaha, matter of fact I bought it from him, so I don't know what happened. We will see. I thought I was good to go and was planning to take it out fishing this morning until I discovered the pump issue, then tweaked my knee at the ramp.
We'll see what the Dr. says.

Sorry to hear about the knee Ray. One of God"s speed bumps....Hope it's nothing major.

My buddy Stanley's boat motor quit "peeing" out of the indicator. We had to disassemble some of the small cooling hoses that feed the indicator. There was a plastic tee in the lines that had clogged with sand and debris, probably from running motor in sand/mud when he beaches boat on shore and cat fishes out the back. Anyway, just because indicator is not peeing doesn't necessarily mean engine is not being cooled. Are you getting high temp buzzers or alarms as well?

Well, I guess it is good news of a sorts. Knee still hurts like crazy but no bones broken and the Doc does not think it is any more than a severe sprain with swelling. A touch of arthritis thrown in for good measure. Did not know I had that in my knee but apparently he thinks I do.
Have to stay off it as much as I can. Most of you remember that my wife broke her foot last November, so I got a pair of crutches to get around on left over from her mishap. Got some anti inflammatory and some pain pills so I am set to ride it out for a while.
I can still drive and move around, just takes a lot longer and a PIA also.
Boat will have to wait until I can manage hooking it up and pulling it to the shop to get it looked at.
Doc wants to see me in 2 weeks and if not quite a bit better, time for an MRI.

Yes, ice for 10 minutes 4 times a day until Sunday then heat and ice. Mainly rest it. That is the hard part, I've been blessed with good health for 70 years and I am not use to just sitting around. I do love to read, so time to catch up on that I guess.
