so do I still need to be using 6.49, and not be able to use my ipilot link or did they finally get 6.74 working correctly ?

All reports I've read indicate the 2d is still not right...

It has even been recommended by HB to run the unit in Dual Beam if the unit is to be used in 2d...

HB says they are still working on some sort of workaround to remedy the 83 and 83/200 pixelation problems. They say this is a solution other than the Dual Beam workaround. I've tried 6.60, 6.61 and 6.74 on my two 998s and, in every case, went back to 6.49. Many say SI (and, therefore, DI) are improved in 6.74 over 6.49. I didn't see that. So, I'll just stick with 6.49. I'm not using any of the newer technologies such as 360 Imaging, iPilot link or the HS antennae so I don't need the programming capabilities of 6.74.

I am using the HS, and the link on a 958 & 1198, 6.74 is not as good as 6.49 IMHO. 2D has not been fixed!

I agree Trout...

My 1197 SI images are "muy yukky" with anything above 6.310...

My AS GPS HS antenna is still waiting on the wayside for a software version that doesn't mess up my SI images...
