Jigs ... usually tipped with a waxworm ... seems to be the most popular around these parts. Specifically, these :
Cabin Creek Bait Company - fishing bait, lures, hooks, and tackle ... and FYI, Grousefly makes a similar product. (he's a site member ... http://www.crappie.com/crappie/members/grousefly.html )

I've always used 1/16 oz. jig heads with a solid body tube body. The places I fish in MS, they tear them up.

I like just the tail segment of a Scent Wiggler on a 1/64 jighead.

I prefer grub bodies - the kind found on 1/32 and 1/64 oz. beetles, and 1" twister tails.

i don't understand. I thought jigs were the overall word to describe tubes, minnows, swirly tails, and such?

Tubes are just a really large sub-category.
