New to the area and from I am told Thunderbird is the closest spot to where I am at. Im in Moore, I went yesterday to the south marina but didn't get to stay as long as I wanted. any tips or hints on T-bird would be greatly appreciated. Or any other Crpappie holes. I am new to the site and new to Ok. thank you in advance.

South Dam especially during spawn. If your by foot take it in sections. Cast parallel with the bank out about 5-15' with a bobber and reel it in. Lots of timber on the east side of the lake. I have pulled numerous crappie from the little axe dock and around it. West side of the water tower has been great too. Need a boat for that. Pulled some thick ones from there during spawn. The west side part of the twin bridges too. You can access it by foot. The lake has been at normal levels since the rain last summer. I can't remember the last time it has been like this. Before that it was 6' low or so and you could really see where all the timber is. Can't now.

Welcome Wingfixr. The twin bridge area is probably the closest to you and one of the best spots on the lake.
The best time to fish is whenever you can.

Welcome Wingfixr - another option is Draper. It's finally got some water back in it & should be pretty good soon.

Dam is the big circle, twin bridge is the medium circle and Little Axe dock is the small circle. Hit these spots.

I just realized I circle the Little Axe dock too low on the map. it is actually higher than that. Please see new map. I haven't had much luck with the dam by foot except during spawn so I wouldn't bother. Little Axe dock is usually good early in the morning. Plenty of timber/brush in front of it (East). You access it off of Peebly where it jogs East. Just go West down the road and follow the signs to the boat ramp. You can see on the map of what I am talking about. There are several ways of getting to Twin Bridge. Just remember the West side is the inlet to Thunderbird and is usually better. Thunderbird is hit and miss. Some days I get skunked and some days I score. It's not one of the better Crappie lakes in Oklahoma but is one of the better if not best Crappie lakes in the OKC area. I would love to fish Arcadia more but is too dang expensive. Hefner dam can pay off. Just make sure the wind is out of the north if you are going to try it. Couldn't imagine trying to fish it by foot with winds out of the South at 20 mph.

I was at the Little Axe dock yesterday. It was pretty empty except for one other person. I was using minnows and didn't get any bites. I moved to the Clear Bay dock, and same story. I went out to the covered dock on Hefner, and still no luck. I wish I could go out before first light, but I don't feel safe being out alone in the dark. When you say the west side of twin bridges, are you guys talking about the park with the picnic table?
