Did they change the length minimum on Oologah for Walleye/Saugeye to the new State 14" or is it still at 18" ? You don't have much meat on a 14" but I seem to have catch thousands of 17-17.5" over the past few years when all lakes where 18".
I just searched the regs, looks like Oologah is 14" and keep 6. I'm gonna pick up my new boat in a couple of days and planned on maybe going to Beaver to try and catch some Walleye and Stripers, but I'll give Oologah a try for 'em and Blues.

Hey deer slayer great photo and tale of family fishing. My wife, child and I are here from Michigan visiting my parents near Claremore. My dad has fished perch for years back in Michigan. He's lived hear for a while and still struggles with catching crappie. I thought that we could put his little boat in Oolagah sometime over the next week. I'm not looking for exact coordinates of your best hole, but sure would appreciate any pointers and maybe a couple of starter locations. I understand that there may be man made brush piles placed by the state. We enjoy each other's company, but a few fish for a tale of our own is always nice. PM me if you don't care to post openly. Thanks

Google Oologah brush piles. It will take you to the Corp site that has all the locations.

Yep, like Coyote said, I have had good luck fishing the Corp brush piles from their website.

At first, I didn't know how to get the coordinates into my FF off the website so I copied the decimal forms into google maps onto my iphone. ha! It worked, I found the piles with my phone gps and then marked them into my FF (I've since figured out how to load directly into my FF). Check the piles in Spencer & Blue Creeks, the wind and waves of Oologah are a bit easier on smaller boats in the creeks. I'm finding that more than half the fun is 'hunting' for the spots. Always fun to see a spot you're hoping is there 'bloom' on the screen. Best of luck.

I'll be trying the iPhone method. Dad's fish finder isn't that sophisticated. Thanks for the heads up on the wind/wave advisory. Looking forward to some quality time.

Is there a bait shop near the south end of Oologah, that opens early in the morning?

Believe Tacora opens at 5am. They are hitting shiners better than Rosies right now. Good luck.
