It was tough for me yesterday. I put in at Allans Point. I fished wiganon, spencer, goose, will rogers, skull hollow, and Talala creek. I had 15 fish. The fish i did catch were in 16 Fow, 10' down. orange and black seemed to work best. It seemed that, if you found a break in the shad, you could catch a fish. There are so many shad, you can not drive out of them!

wow, you hit it hard. Last time out for me I was amazed by the shad. Thanks for the report, I'm going to try tomorrow and I'll let you know how we do. Thanks for the report.

I agree with TC. We fished all his spots plus Bells Cove and only managed 12 up to 1 .56 lbs. as he said it was hard to find brush not completely covered in shad and when we did we usually caught 1-2 fish then it was over. Oologah Orange hair jigs and black and chartruese big tubes have produced best the last two times out. It was nice to meet Jerky Log and TC's boat load of patients on Hydrotherapy and Doug etc. yesterday. I think Odie schooled us but he is laying low for now so we may never know. We have been finding more fish in about 12 fow, I think because the shad are not as prevalent below 15'.

Yesterday was costly as I took the finally tagged and new tires on trailer Ranger up the hiway for the first time. Headed towards Big Creek I hit 169 North. Three miles into the higher speeds, I thought I would pull over and feel the hubs on the trailer for signs of heat since I have not messed with the bearing other than shoot some fresh grease into them. Hubs were fine, but I noticed my fancy transport rod holder I made had let one of my Huckabees escape! I quickly hopped in the truck and turned around in search. Someone had already scored it. Got to Big Creek ramp and it had about 5" of sediment sitting on it for around 20' out of the water. Jerky Log and WSD had launched and somewhat cut a path. I don't have 4x4 and questioned my sanity when I backed down onto the mud packed ramp. Keeping in their tracks, I didn't even get the boat wet before I decided it was a bad idea for me to go any further. DOH! Too late. Now not enough traction to pull the heavy Ranger back up the ramp. Had to dig the grooves out in front of the rear tires with a peice of K Pattern Casing I had in the back. I was able to get enough traction to spin my way to the top without burning tread. From there I went back to the lake and launched. While talking to WSD by phone, like a moron, I caught a fish and held my phone with my shoulder whilst landing said fish. Phone falls, bounces off the deck and does a one and a half pike into the drink. SIGH! Wind was bad, caught 21, kept 20 over 10". Bobby Garland 3" Slab Slayer, Orange Chart, Bobby Garland Slab DockT'R threadfin shad.

Just might be bumper boats today in a certain area. Dinobot and his brother are joining me.
