I have forgotten where the lake is. Im headed to the gas station to get a map at lunch today!
Anybody going to be out on Oologah Sunday? I am thinking of giving it a try and would love to meet some new people!

Same here- haven't been to the Vulture Amusement Park since the big tourney that you won! Can't stand the thought of reliving the humiliation of that day.
Ok, i'll fess up. I took a week of vacation last week for muzzle load season and decided to fish instead. Fished a half a day on 2 different days and caught 15 keepers the first day, with 13 inches being the biggest and 17 the second day and 15 inches was the best. Fish were consistent both days 15 to 17 feet just off bottom. Didn't catch many small fish. i didn't kill em but I caught enough to make it fun, the weather was nice and I wasn't at work. Here's a pic from the first day.

The fish are back biting! 12-24 fow on brush. Brought home 50 friday
Had a weird day last week fishing on oologah which started when I realized I had forgotten to plug in my on board charger so I ended up jump starting the ignition battery from my trolling motor battery as I floated away from the ramp. But that wasn't too unusual for me- my rememberer has never been real consistent. The odd things were associated with the fish. Tho I tried I could not get bit in less than 24 fow, so I caught em in 24-35 fow 3' off the bottom on several different piles. Had to keep moving to find biters. The strangest thing was that I cleaned 20 over 10" - mostly 11-12" fish and only threw back 14 dinks so a real different ratio on Oo for me. Caught 3 12" fish that were too brawny to fit into my 12" plastic measure device- never seen that on Oo before and also never caught a this year's spawn crappie before- generously 3" long. My son, Crappiefool41, needed fish so he cleaned them and commented on how thick they were. And it seemed to me that they fought harder than usual too tho maybe I am so out of shape that it only seems that way! Apparently order was restored the next day when KC Masterpiece fished 4 hours- caught 38- with only one 11" fish to show for it. I do think the eaters are heavier this year which I attribute to the massively successful shad spawn last summer when the water stayed 20' high for so long.

Cc, You and I seem to be in the same boat. My wife has suggested that maybe my Halfzeimers is growing. We too have been getting some VERY healthy fish, but at the other end of the state.
Anybody else noticing this fat feisty fish phenomenon?
C2, It has always seemed to me the fish are way more feisty after the water cools off! Seriously, lately I have thought I had a big catfish, get it to the surface and it's a nice crappie ! Love when that happens!!

You're probably right since this is my first December to fish since 2012. After catching about 3500 Swiss crappie ( Is that a hook? I surrender!) the past few months I forgot that there's more to them than the thump! They are definitely fatter this year on Oo tho.
