It was really nice for the first hour or so, then the wind came up.

Thought about going to Tenkiller (for the first time) and doing some bank fishing. Looking at a map (http://www.tenkiller.net/tspmap.htm), I see a Fisherman's Point, and one blatantly enough called Crappie Point. Anyone know if these are recommended at this time?

I was going to say I have fished this lake for 35 years and never heard of either. After looking at the map reason why is I never fish that end of the lake. Really Tenkiller as far as I am concerned isn't a good lake for bank fishing. If I was going to bank fish it would be on the North or upper end of the lake. The west side of Cherokee landing would be a nice spot. They also have a fishing dock as you enter the park on the right in a neck. Also around the boat ramp south at Elk Creek on the eddys I see a few people fishing there as well. I have caught crappie from a boat in both locations......Ranger

Last weekend was windy. I resorted to vertical jigging. I didn't have jig heads heavy enough to cast and sink to the brush before the wind would blow my bait 10 feet past the mark. Heck my markers were 10 feet off the brush by the time they sank. It was rough. We took our limit but it was work. I don't have one of them fancy trolling motors to auto hold you on the brush. In the time it took me to unhook a fish, put it in the live well, then run back to the front of the boat, we were 25'+ off the brush. My trolling motor ran on high the entire day. Think I saw Redge bunkered up from the wind along a bank across from me.
