Yep, same thing with me yesterday. People blowing by at top speed almost like they don't even know you are there. Recreational boaters and jet-skiers are bad enough, but when other fishermen in their 'professional' bass boats come zipping by while you are stopped, anchored, and poles in the water...that really ticks me off. Have some $%#@^$& courtesy for other fishermen and either turn well away or slow the heck down until you are past their spot!!! I had a few times yesterday where I was anchored and nearly thrown from my seat by wakes. Not to mention water coming nearly over the side due to being at anchor.

I haven't,t fished Arcadia this year but in the past the crappie were bigger than tbird. Wildlife dept told me you don't have to pay Edmond entry fee if you fish the south side bank fishing that is.

Where is this located at on the south side?

Well just as I was complaining about not getting into the crappie, I managed to bag a few today. Nothing for the record books but 4 above 10", one 12.5". Bout a half dozen dinks. Also caught a few LMB, sandies, and an ambitious bluegill. I was fishing from the bank on the north side and there were HUNDREDS of 4-6" shad schooling right along the shoreline. Most of my luck, including the keeper crappie, hit on 3/4 oz gold/chrome rat-l-trap. Also had luck with black/white shad softbait on 1/8 oz white jig heads. Fished from 11-3 (weird time of day). Fingers crossed that this wasnt a fluke!

I had a scenario like this happen to me at Hawthorn Bluff at Oologah Sept 2012. The wind was blowing something wicked into the cove and there was 10's of thousands of shad. I had never seen nothing like it. The water was just flickering. I was casting a small crappie crank and was killing the sand bass every cast. I used the crank because it rattled and wobbled which made it stand out in all the shad.

I went out Friday and caught 1 crappie and 1 channel cat. But I did get in a mess of sand bass in 25' FOW off a point. Minnows and jigs. Hit anything that moved for about 2-3 hours.
