I got into some saugeyes May of last year on the the far west side of the dam. Was a windy day and crappie were in full action on the banks. That was the only time I have ever gotten into them.

I went up in little river Friday evening looking for some new spots, ended up with nothing. Decided to give it a try this evening from bout 4 till dark. Fished the twin bridges area hittin submerged brush and stickups. I caught 9 that were around 8 inches but let em go to grow. I did keep 3 of them that were solid 11 inchers tho. Think I mite go out again tomaro an give it a shot.

Took my cousin out on Friday. He was in town visiting from Colorado Springs. We couldn't find any crappie of sandies but did find these blue cats. We tried fishing brush piles and even the pump station. No crappies at all. Neither on minnows nor jigs. Wind was blowing pretty good.

I went to the marina on Wed. after work. I never untied the boat. Caught abunch of 6-8's, some were pretty chunky, and brought home 5 that were over 10 with 2 that were pushing 12 but not quite there! I used up what was left of my minnows, caught some on black/green jigs, and if I added a nibble that was what they bit first. Was there from about 1pm to dark. All were around brush and suspended 5-7' down. Nice cats Chuck. What did you use for bait?

Hey Boat, I guess I need to get a slip at the marina if I want to get any crappie. Caught the cats on cut shad.

I'll be back out there tomorrow after work. Sometime you will have to meet me out there and see what we can find.

Default a Mississippi thread made me think of Thunderbird

    http://www.crappie.com/crappie/off-t...er-supper.html

I rarely go the Thunderbird anymore as I have to fight off the dinks to get to some keepers. I think I need to change and start going there again. ScottV's thread brought back memories of when I was a youngster and we used to go fishing (not crappie fishing, or bass fishing, or fishing for catfish, or perch.) We just went fishing - and we kept lots of small fish to eat.

My long departed MIL (a Cherokee lady) loved to fish with me and threw a fit every-time I tossed back something that was not a "keeper." I spent a lot of time with her scaling and cleaning bream. And she used to love to eat the tails. I think I should keep a few dinks from T'Bird just in her memory. Can't hurt the lake either.

Just thought I would post this because the Oklahoma forum has really been dead lately and while it's cold outside you can still think about "fishing."

Went out to check the boat, before the "weather" hit, yesterday after work. Got there at 1230p left an hour later after snugging up the boat and grabbing a few rods to respool. I fished a few of the slips on my way out and managed to bring home 5 that were 10-12''.
