Went out today after work. A buddy came over from BA and we fished from about 2-8pm. He started catching them at the marina while I was messing with the boat and we caught crappie at 3 different locations like bigBone mentioned, around trees and stumps in the coves. The majority were tight to the structure and about 6-10 ft down in 10-16 FOW. It was a really light bite with most of them also. Hoping to go back out Friday and see what happens.

Dang sounds like I shoulda went for crappie yesterday. I went out 6-8pm yesterday evening just foolin around throwing some swimbaits and curley tail grubs. Was hopin to snag into a saugeye. Got the ole skunk instead lol

It was just one of those days that happen when you least expect it. BTW, all were caught using minnows. Where were you fishing, BB. We didnt head to the marina until about 8.

I was fishing the cove west of fishermans point and the point between it and the water plant intake. I've hung into some good ones in that area but not recently guess I'm going to have to wait till water temp drops a lil more.

Did a repeat of last Wednesday today. Went after work, same buddy came over from BA. This time we went to one spot and caught all but the few he caught at the marina while I was getting the boat ready to go. There was a couple in a boat that I believe came out last week also, that tied up to a tree maybe 100 yds from us and started catching crappie as soon as they got there hooks in the water. All caught on minnows 6-8 ft down in 14 fow. Nothing big but alot of 8-10s and chunky.

Arrived at the bird just before 8 this morning. Got home at noon just in time to fry up the 8 I cleaned and brought home! k Caught around 40 total. The dinks were hitting early, the 8 I brought home were all caught deeper 10' to the bottom in 16 fow. Still a light bite with only a few of the little ones hitting it hard. Gonna give it another try Sunday afternoon after I finish work. Wonder what this front will do thats coming in tonight?

I made it out this past Wed. after work after the front came through Tues night. Practically no bites! caught 2 dinks but got some organizing done on the boat and at the dock. Went back out Friday afternoon, fished from about 130p to 445p. Brought home 5 that all were right at 12" and 2 that were 10''. Caught around 50 total and never left the marina! Seems like lately the days that are kind of gloomy in between the nice days are when they are biting. With that theory in mind, I passed on going after work today and will go tomorrow when I get off work around noon.

I have a question for those that frequent Tbird. After the water came up, I did some running around on the boat checking some of the old spots that I hadnt fished in a while. I went to the cove that is south of the Clear Bay ramp that has the fishing bouy at the mouth. Where did the trees and stumps go?? There was only 1 tree towards the north shore inside the cove. There used to be some standing with limbs running in all directions just below the water surface. I found where they used to be with my fishfinder but it was just a little bump on an otherwise smooth bottom. I zigjaged around looking for stumps of which there used to be alot and didnt see any? By the depth of the water even at the lowest there still would have been about 5.5 FOW where the trees used to be. Any ideas or knowledge of what happened to that cove?
