Stopped by CJ on my way home from a gravel pit in Urbana. Got 6 dink crappie, most of them in the 6-8" range. Fish were shallow and hitting for just about everyone near the marina walls. I caught them on a 1/16oz jig and 3" silver flake grub. Disappointed with sizes but oh well.

I was out Saturday and Sunday with little to report. As downtime says, surface temp was in the low 70s but it was still in the low to mid 60's on the bottom on the humps. A ranger told me on Saturday that "they were still up by the dam in the shallows up that way." I went "in search of" with electronics and crankbaits early Sunday but didn't even mark very much. I didn't really mark fish anywhere at any depth. I did see another veteran on Sunday who said that he got 4 keeper Walleyes on Saturday after 11:00 A.M. Neither of us were finding them on Sunday in the same area.

My whole family is out of state this week so I'll be fishing a lot as weather permits. If the jig bite is going to turn on it really should be soon. It's already late. I have usually caught quite a few Walleyes by now.

    See you out there.

Well I managed to get out yesterday from 6:30am til 11am with my Buddy Pat....saw Guppy out....we caught plenty of fish everywhere but the Marina...the bad part is that we could not find any keepers from the bank....WE COULD HAVE STOCKED PLENTY OF AQUARIUMS! They were hitting 3 inch smaller swimmers...move to a bigger size and you caught NOTHING!
Started at the Marina and caught over 30 dinks...1 nine inch fish, 1 ten....watched a couple guys catching and keeping baskets of Kitties
Moved, Gazebo area was more of the same....Moved, to the Overlook, more dinks....saw a guy with a Beautiful basket of BIG BULL 'gills!
Didn't want to go to my spot, too many people around....gotta save that one for nights!

I imagine our buddy Jeremiah is tearing things up right now!
Mike/Downtime....look for the natural structure in that area, plus cover!
One productive area for "Teeth", has a long trench by an area that is a desert!

Took my granddaughter out yesterday (6/2) for some tubing and a few trips just looking for structure (found more) and the water temp is on the way up.77-80 deg. Will be at it again the end of next week so it looks like early morning or night might be best.

Paul was right...went out at 7pm until 10pm and fished a shallow flat....from 7 to 9:30pm I caught a fish on almost every cast...actually found some size, 13.5 was the big fish, with several 12's, everything else was from 9 to 11....maybe only 1 or 2 dinks.
Started off with a chartruese Easy Shiner with a black head....they tore up all 4 that I had...put on a Keitech craw colored the same way, and they destroyed all 3 I had...I finally got smart and stuck on the glow Z-man, and no matter how hard they hit, they couldn't destroy it.
I kept charging it up with the LED ice jig case that Guppy showed me.
When it got dark at 9:30, the bite shut off....period...nothing!.... Or, maybe I just caught all the fish in that area!
