If the hose is corroded now I wouldn't splice it. Guaranteed future issue.
Bite the bullet now and replace it, do whatever it takes.
Of course u could always take down the darn wall if its u way.......Yes slice & splice as mentioned above just make a neat cut and they do make coupling that should fit that hose and use the better hose clamps.
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.....

You'll be money ahead if you just call a professional, seriously.
Tom is there any amount of pipe sticking out to where you could cut it close to the fitting with a hack saw blade, and then put a collar and then more pipe or fittings as needed. Just end up with a metal valve where in the future you can grip it with a wrench while twisting off the hose with pliers.
