To be a good moderator one has to have a pretty level head not a big head. I saw all the post that were in question before and after the edit i thought they were funny and i,ve seen worse that being said if the moderator had a problem with it he should have just deleted it. I talk a little smack on here from time to time:D I enjoy this site and all the people on it as for the mods i,ve never had a problem with any of them i,ve made a lot of friends here and prolly a few enemies Look at it like this in 100 years who,ll care?

I for one totally agree with the ban but feel it should have been for a longer time. He should have apologized to Ed for even making such a post on a family site. Making light of an illegal substance here was just assinine and showed the immaturity of the poster. But for him to ask for an apology from the Mod was going to far in my opinion. A lot of people here must feel they are better than others, and can post whatever they want with immunity from the Mods. 3/4 of the post lately should have been deleted from the start. The gang bangers are still going strong and have picked a new victim to attack. Just because a person has been on the forum for a long time shouldn't make a difference when they knowingly break the rules. If one person should follow the rules than everyone should have to follow the same rules. The only way to stop all the BS that has been going on lately is to start banning the instigaters. This was a start but should have more to follow. But than this is just my opinion, for what it is worth. EB

I tried to get Slab to get away from the whole moderator thing and set me up as dicktater with total & absolute power but no luck. I am frothing at the mouth to flex my muscles and press the button on my deleter. Boy will it be fun paying back the mods who have editted & deleted me! I am so gung-ho that if Slab reconsiders and puts me in power I plan to edit & delete a buncha stuff right off, even if there is nothin wrong with the content. My screen name is gonna be Der Fuhrer. As my first act after deleting a buncha ya, I'm gonna create a thread with a poll and we are gonna get to the bottom of this democrat/republican debate (I use the term debate loosely) once and for all. And I WON'T be changing the words of anyone's posts to suit myself. I am just gonna leave their user name at the top of the post but fill in the rest with whatever I would LIKE to see that particular member say, so dont light up the PM asking me what the hecks the deal if you see PBUGs post talking about jigs turns into PBUG doing a full-feature article on the latest in skinhead fashions. Just wait till I interview Slab, getting his take on heroin from different parts of the world. And of course, in keeping with the rules I will NOT allow any devil-worshipping threads. They can stay as long as theres no reference to Satan himself, but any actual talk about shaking hands with or drawing up contracts with will not be tolerated.

No. Actually I was at a place you may have heard of called Hartfield VA and the horses there have evidently all been tutored to fight the farrier. I'm a little woozie yet from the left hind I caught after delivering a right roundhouse to a particularly psychotic mare. The kinda action I'm talkin about will not be found in Horse Whisperer magazine my friend.

ok I lied. I not only skipped my meds, I done skipped em for 2 weeks now and gone completely herbal. Well I still take interferon because I have to be alive in order to skip my meds.

I shoulda known it was gonna be a rough day when the address was Stompers Bay Rd.

Have they figgered out a solution to the bad mods yet? Title caught me off guard, I had never entertained the notion of a good mod.

Sry to bust your bubble....but this forum is far from a private site....it may be privately owned....but its a 100% public site...for example log off & see if you can read the material here...yes you can.....next goto login & see if you can register for free & dont have to wait for the owner/admin to aprove you....yes you can....so its far from a private site..just privately owned :D

Now for the mods & admins.....its a tuff job & you have to have a strong backbone & not a yellow strip....that bein said I dont know who the mod was addin/takin away stuff from a poster, but is bad bad news.....Should be removed instantly & just lettem hang around as a member if they want....if not o well!!!

Wow alot of ventin for a short fat man huh :D
Hope the fish are bitin for you ~tight lines~

Alright, I've read and seen enough, I'm closing this thread. I've allowed it to be open because I do have an open mind, and I wanted a little feedback, and I wanted to allow everyone to vent a little.

I support our mods 100%. They have a hard job, and they do not get a lot of support from our members. Please remember, they are volunteers, they do not get paid. We need them to keep the peace, otherwise we will have a site like Shoer describes above! And although that type of site has it's place, it does not have a place here on Crappie.com.

Now as many of you know, I will be leaving my day job (in about two weeks), to try to make a go of a project I have here on Crappie.com, namely BaitshopGuide.com and Slab Sauce. Until I can make an income here, with these project, I guarantee we will not be paying moderators, so the volunteer mods are the life blood of this site, please, please, please, be nice to our mods, and thank them for their fine work. Like I said, we would not have this site if not for our Moderators.

OK, having said that, yeah, like CrappiePappy said, and like others in this thread think as well, we (mods and admins) should not modify member posts. It's really also for legal reasons that posts should not be edited (other than removing bad words, or maybe persons real names, or other personal information like phone numbers).

Short story about that. The IL DNR has recently been in contact with me about a member that had posted porn and using the name IL_DNR, and they asked for information I gladly provided. Some institutions, particularly our government, take major offense to slander and falsification.

Anyway, lets finish this discussion. We are all human beings, members, mods and even non-fishermen. We make mistakes, I make mistakes, face it everyone has made a mistake. Let it go, lets get on with life, lets go fishing, lets talk fishing and be done with it. Lets have fun on this site, I beg you. Everyone, I need a happy site, I want to make a living on this site, I implore you to help. Help me help you. Not sure if you know this, 25% of waht I make from my sponsors is given to you all on this site in the way of prizes and giveaways. Actually, now that I think about it, I probably give away a lot more than that with the t-shirts and hats and Slab Sauce that I give away.

    Lets go fishing.

A poll for whether or not the mods should be moderated. Well guys in away they are moderated....You see C.c has 68 regular Moderators and they are assigned specific forums to moderate. Then you have one Administrator ( Slab) and 8 Super Mods. The Admin and the Super Mods have Mod capability on all of the forums. They also float around and try to see if the other Mods are doing OK etc.. I really think we have enough Moderators and Checks and Balances to keep everything going ok. We have to watch for a lot of stuff besides what you guys post....Spammers, Spambots, Trolls, Porn etc. We catch this on a daily basis and do a lot behind the scenes that you folks are not aware of. All in all I think we do a pretty good job. However...if you have a legitamate beef about any certain Mod...the best thing to do is take it to Slab by PM.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
