Looks like Texas is calling for help from volunteers to help in water rescues. I wonder if they have a Cowboy Navy like we had a Cajun Navy.

"G" Gone but not forgotten!!
Serious rain bands here cross on occasion, will dump a couple of inches in a short period of time. Keeping an eye on the Vermilion river, don't want to paddle in the next couple of days. My son, daughter in law, and two grand boys live in Southwest Houston. Son is considered an essential employee on a Chevron FPSO (floating production storage and offloading unit) in the gulf - so he's there. Regardless of what the press says, most are evacuated from the facilities in the gulf - but not all. Some must remain to keep control in order. It's imperative to keep control. Been there, and have done that.
Daughter in law spooked, went to her parents house on high ground in the Houston area. Not sure what high ground is in the Houston area covered with asphalt and concrete with millions of people.
Ann is making me a meat loaf this evening along with fresh mashed tators. Will follow that up with Blue Bell pralines and cream ice cream. She says that I still have to squirt the whipped cream out of the can to put on top. I'll leave that alone for the time being.
Thanks Lee, you're a good fella. I really do appreciate it.

Nope, not going to talk about what colored jigs are catching where, nor show a box of crappie to impress folks right now. Now is not the time, I have my priorities.
Somewhat concerned about the can whipped cream on the ice cream this evening though.

I'm praying for the victims of the storm. I am and will continue to pray for the safety of your son. Hopefully the wind will end and the flooding will recede. Also, I'm asking people if you are able, to please send a donation to the Salvation Army to help out. Money is the most important thing needed in such a time as this. Thankfully my brother, who lives near the Sabine river on the Tx/La state line is doing okay. How about a check in from Shadow. Randy, I sure hope you get your whipped cream soon. Irony is maybe then you will be okay with fishing talk on a fishing sight.
