Another delicacy using hoe cakes is a collard sandwich. Bet you haven't tried that either. And before any of you cajuns start hassling me about "weird southern food", y'all suck the brains out of mud bugs, for Heaven's sake!

Put the pulled pork on the "hoe" cake and eat it as is. She's digging into her roots in Kentucky, folks up there eat strange things. Sounds interesting.

One thing I won't touch again is their "country ham and black-eyed gravy". Which is basically a slice of ham with about two pounds of salt on it, topped with coffee.

She tolerates my briskets and chicken fried steaks, so I guess I tolerate a "hoe" cake.
Hey now watch those Kentucky jokes... Just give me a biscuit with my country ham.

Received the starter yesterday afternoon Redge, fed and nourished last night. Serious sourdough bread this weekend. A goody box will be coming your way shortly. Thanks Kirk.

Excuse me! It's Red Eye Gravy not black-eyed gravy. Just leaves more for me. As a matter of fact, I'll think I'll hunt some country ham down and we'll have that next weekend. LOL

I had heard of red eye, but figured a Texan could call it whatever he wanted. lol I don't care for it either. Taste like dirty dish water smells. Like the seasoning name. Now randy, what a dilemma if Walmart orders a few hundred thousand bottles cause it taste's good. What you gonna do then?
