i hardly call the likes of carlos boozer, corey magette, loul deng, grant hill, christian latner, and elton brand bench warmers mopar matt. that goes for you too tarheel. Duke is just well rounded enuf that we put out nba players, and benchwarmers alike. plus commentators, and ncaa head coaches. since vince carter, the heels have put out.......ummmmm.... charlotte bobcats. oh and Joe Forte.

The reason Duke players seem to do poorly in the NBA is because they played four years(in most cases) for a TEAM.there is no team mentality in the NBA.If you are willing to make the extra pass , then the next guy is glad to have the shot you gave up.Thats why the NBA sucks so bad.It's just a bunch of ball hogs taking the first shot for themselves.Having fewer NBA allstars playing right now is hardly a measure of a team's merit.I am a die hard Duke fan and have been for years...However , I think it may be getting time for Dawkins to take the reigns.A coach K team from even two years ago would never smack a guy in the face blatantly like they did the UNC kid.I believe that is a canary in the coal mine up in Durham.That kid would have been kicked off the team before.I give Roy Williams all the credit in the world as I think he is a classy coach.I always admired him at Kansas and knew when he returned to UNC that the tide would be changing soon enough.Thats cool , it wasn't very much fun beating them up under Doherty or even worse.....Guthridge.Now maybe the rivalry can become great again.Go Devils..........

I don't care much for Duke, but I'm not really into ball games but I enjoy watching UNC-Duke because it is always a great game. However is it me but are Billy Packer and Dick Vitale about the most annoying announcers? They take the fun out of watching the game with Vitale never able to keep quiet and Packer thinking he can outcoach Roy, Dean and Coach K. If Packer thinks he can coach so great why didn't he put in for the UNC job after Dean retired?

You are right on the money and I couldn't agree more............ Vitale especially can almost ruin a good game.......

All of which are as talented as any of the Duke alumni. OK, since Duke got knocked out by "one of those poor public schools" back to fishing.

I meant what I said about Williams being a classy coach.I cant however say the same about some of their fans.Graduation rates and NBA starters dont mean crap.You win some , you lose some.These two teams just happen to win more often than they lose and live right down the road from one another.......Losing with dignity is a very good test of one's true grit.Winning with dignity is an even better one.
