Ron and I can be there on weekends. I'll keep checking the thread for updates. Ron is full of good ideas, I'll pass it by him and get back with you.

    PopPop,
This plan sounds good. Count me in.
Does the material we use to build the piles have to come from the lake bed, or can it be BYOB (bring your own brush)?

Dan, they are refilling it starting three weeks after Feb 01. We would have to have it done by then.

Kellog, we could probably bring our own...but there is tons and tons of logs, stumps, bushes, that is already there, scattered all along the shoreline.

Sounds like a good idea if we can get things together before it fills back up. Is there a map where we can see where the Alcoa land is? Seems like most of Abbotts, Flat Swamp & Swearing Creek is private land with a lot of houses.

I spoke to Ron, he is in as well. I have about 15/20 cement blocks and quite a bit of 1/8" cable tpye wire. It can be easily tied by hand which will make it easy to work with. I'm not sure how well it will hold up in the water. I used it on a tripod deer stand and never noticed it rusting.

Hawk, its well marked on the shoreline. I also asked if we could build brushpiles on the other land since Alcoa owns everything up to the high water mark anyways. In reality most of our labor will be on the main channel and in the coves off it.

OK, I just wondered about going into the woods to cut trees or get material for the brushpiles, wouldn't want to get onto someone's property. Also access to lake or would everything have to be done by boat.

Thats right Hawkman....like I said I asked Alcoa if we could utilize the waterfront for brushpiles even the ones in front of homes. I explained to them that we would not be around any homes that has a pier just the ones that the waterfront is not developed yet.
