Nice pic! We used to see them all the time when we were up in Bellevue, IA. It was fun watching them work the open water below the dam in the winter. No matter how many times you see them, they still look amazing!

The population seems to be growing around Truman Lake. Our founding fathers knew what they were doing when they chose it to be our national bird. Very majestic and beautiful whether perched or soaring high.

Up in Canada (Lake of the Woods) the Eagles love Crappie! it is a riot to watch them pick the crappie off the water 10 feet from the boat.

I have been to Orr, MN a few times ice fishing. Up there it is nothing for one to slip in and steal a crappie or 'gill off the ice. I have seen them come in as close as 20' on a glide and grab a slab off the ice! Pretty scary the first time it happened.

Awesome, they have really been around this winter. I see two in the tree strip behind the house last month.
