Life is good today.
The population seems to be growing around Truman Lake. Our founding fathers knew what they were doing when they chose it to be our national bird. Very majestic and beautiful whether perched or soaring high.
"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty ia a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." - Benjamin Franklin.
Up in Canada (Lake of the Woods) the Eagles love Crappie! it is a riot to watch them pick the crappie off the water 10 feet from the boat.
Hope that ain't the Dog he's got them talons in....
I have been to Orr, MN a few times ice fishing. Up there it is nothing for one to slip in and steal a crappie or 'gill off the ice. I have seen them come in as close as 20' on a glide and grab a slab off the ice! Pretty scary the first time it happened.

Awesome, they have really been around this winter. I see two in the tree strip behind the house last month.
