The Meramec got me last year a few miles down from Sand Ford access near Stanton. Ripped a big hole in the bottom of my boat. It was full of water by the time I got back to the ramp. Had to get a new hull after that one. Definitely want to make sure your insurance is paid up if you plan on running the Meramec in a jet boat very much.

You were in absolutely the worst place on the whole river. I’ve been on that river from Sand Ford all the way up to Cuba as a kid, most of the time with an old 9.5 Johnson with a bronze prop and only sheared a pin occasionally. There’s a reason most locals avoid “the can opener “ riffle.
