Yeah live in Kansas and have a small farm in Fort Scott.
Welcome to the forum Nu2! I fished LOZ last weekend and finished with limits both days. I have house on the Little Niagua arm and fish that area mostly. I didn't fish the Little Niagua last weekend because the water was way to dirty. I went to Linn Creek and fished docks on points and worked my way back into the coves. Best docks were over 12 to 20 fow. Black and Char and red and char were my best colors. Water temp was 55 to 56 degrees. Most all the fish's I caught were females full of eggs. I try'ed fishing the banks and had very little luck. I think my part of the lake hasn't started spawning heavily yet. By the way fish were under the docks 3 to 6 feet down.

right now fishing is on fire. catching 10-12 inch males in very shallow water. 32nd or 16th oz slabbusters blk/chart. occasional female up to 13 inches. been down since Saturday and catching limits each day on big Niangua arm 9-16 MM. casting or dipping. seemed like yesterday the fish moved out to brush. Sat and Sun they were right on the rocks. did luck into a bonus 21 inch walleye. that'll make a nice mthey eal in itself for the wife and I. BTW they are forecasting SNOW showers this evening down here.
2 Limits in 2hours last night. Put in at Larry Gale and fished within 2 miles of ramp. Nothing HUGE but some nice 11" fish. Black males on bank females were out just a little. Bellies were rubbed black on males.
Also had a buddy fish our dock on little niangua yesterday and he caught several but lots of shorts. He moved to another dock on the osage and said they were on fire.
Black/green or Green were best. Rain today and colder temp will probably slow them down a little. I will fish again Thursday evening (probably around Larry Gale)
They are running water hard out of the lake, it is falling slowly. Dont be surprised if the fish aren't on the banks, they may pull off some.
I went today and made a post.
