Welcome to the site, there are a lot of helpful people on here that may be able to help out.
MM on the lake --pick one
    Front to middle of coves
    Chunk rock or gravely
Lure -jig with or without spinner, weight less is better than more, tip it or not to tip it always seems to be the question better get some just in case, nibbles o you may want some kind of spray also.
Colors- any thing with chartreuse or pearl.
Fish number and size caught per hour --- that depends on if I've had just a few or a few to many.
Time of day fish caught---- normally after ten sometimes afternoon.
Other observations--- if its hot for some reason that weekend have fun on the main lake especially 19 mm to the dam.
If there are any spelling errors I apologize got a bit tipse before typein this out. You got to love that Crown Black with a few of them the fish never bite bad. Almost for got sometimes a hook and minner is the way to go and they will be anywhere from one to eight feet deep.

Thank you for the tips. I fished crappie once last year and taking a friend this year and just want him to have a good time. That should be enough to get started. Let me know if you are out there any you see anything change this week. Looking forward to getting on the lake... with a few cold ones.

    Welcome to the site.

I have to admit, that is a pretty bold and gutsy first post. You have been given some really solid advice above, use it and you'll do well. Allow me to give you a bit more and perhapse more people will be more forthcoming with information. When you are asking for help, be a bit more tactful. You cant jump on here, say screw etiquite and demand coordinates to someone's honey hole, its very off-putting and people tend to clam up. You're demanding someone give you in minutes what they've cultivated over years. Dont get me wrong this is an amazing group of guys on here and most are more than willing to help anyone out or sometimes even take you with them, just please be mindful how you come at them.
    Just some friendly advice.

No amount of tips can beat time and experience on the water. That is what you need, and that is how you learn to crappie fish.

Hi, while I appreciate the time and experience it takes to catch fish regularly, my personal circumstances do not allow for this kind of time. I wished I had even 4 hours a week to go fishing. I don't and won't till I retire. Consider yourself blessed if you do.

I am asking the forum for help, tips, anything that is not confidential, but will help a sap like me catch a few fish. I am not looking to win a tournement or repeat it every day till the fish or gone. I am going to fish one day this year for crappie. This Saturday is it. That's all. If you don't want to post something then don't. Being mean doesn't seem right to me.

I do appreciate the few tips I have read and thank you for getting me steered in the right direction. I will use those and probably catch 10 - 20 fish and have a great time with a friend who has helped me out.

I was under the impression that crappie fishermen and women were out to help others fish and not tell them to go golfing, which I don't, figure it out by themselves by spending time and gaining experience, or anything else the makes you feel better.

I am just trying to catch a few fish. Nothing more.

I apologize if I have offended anyone.

You've got some good tips here, look at some of the other LOZ threads. Typically people will give a report with the majority of the info you're looking for. If I wasn't fishing in a bass tourney this weekend, I'd most likely be on LOZ. Were that the case, I'd say lets hook up and compare notes. I'm not the most successful fisherman here but typically more than willing, as most here are, to share what's working for me (or more often what's not). I've even been known to hand guys a handful of whatever color I'm catching them on if they don't have it. I don't think anyone was offended, just a little taken back by the tone of the initial post. It's hard to communicate nonverbals in this format.
Anyway, good luck, if I hear anything different than what has already been posted, I'll post it. I hope you catch a limit. Give us a good report when you get back from your trip.
